I swear (Saints GM) Loomis/Payton are just trolling the Saints fanbase with that news...I hope?

My bold prediction is that Howie Roseman ruins my weekend early like he always does.

I am a Cards fan, but BYU fan first. If the Jets passed on Wilson I would be more than happy to see Wilson in a 9ers uniform.

Speaking of drama (or is this more of a divine comedy?)

Adam Schefter reporting the Packers have offered to extend Rodgers' contract. You'd have to think "too little, too late" at this point. Man I can't wait for 6pm

As far as Rodgers you gotta imagine if Love isn't traded this weekend that it will be Aaron who gets traded.

I know that Packers fans want one more run with Rodgers...but wouldn't moving him here be the right move.
If that rumor of 3rd overall and other pieces from San Francisco was true then wouldn't that be a no brainer.
Guy is one of the best QBs of all time, but he's also 37 years old and IMO he doesn't seem as committed to the game as a guy like Brady.
Seems like they could cash out and set up the next era...just like they did from Favre to Rodgers.

As a Packers fan I’m obviously not happy with that news.
On the other hand he still has 3 years left in his 4 year extension so I am confused how he wants more. He was really pissed with the Jordan Love pick (as was I) and wants to be more involved in personnel discussions.
At this point it’s almost worth trading him to get rid of all this drama but the Packers will take on a cap hit larger than if he stayed if they trade him so it makes no sense.

No one in the NFL loves drama more than Rodgers. I’m sure this ends with him getting some more money on a contract and not much else.

I think Rodgers is perfectly committed to football - I think he’s had enough of Green Bay not being committed.
He just watched Tom Brady go to Tampa Bay, tell the front office to sign a bunch of guys he wanted to play with, and beat the brakes off Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl.
There’s no way Rodgers doesn’t see that and think “I have five years to play in two or three more Super Bowls if I go somewhere that signs Antonio Brown when I say ‘sign Antonio Brown’”.
The whole Jeopardy thing is less about a second career as Aaron Rodgers telling the Green Bay Packers “I don’t need you and I don’t need the game. Trade me right ####ing now.”

We were inevitably going to get to this point whether Rodgers was a drama queen or not. When you draft a QB in the first round you need to know by the end of year three if he's decent because that's the deadline for the fifth year option. So either Love has to start playing soon, or that already highly questionable draft pick falls into worst of all-time territory pretty quick. I do think the Packers will fold and Love will be dealt.

The problem is he can't be traded with his current contract.
Here is the cap hit breakdown:
$37,202,000 to play in Green Bay
$38,356,000 to be traded away
It would literally cost the Packers more against the cap if he was traded then if they dig their heels in. Of course one option is a re-structure/re-sign and THEN trade which seems like it is the only option.

Well hopefully they don't get some substantial, over the top payment for him that will just keep the Packers on the HOF quarterback treadmill.
Theres now way that GB would do it, but that #20 pick and a sweetener for Rodgers would be fantastic.
