"stupid"?
I've seen a lot of hot takes in this thread, but this one is special.
Well done ricardo...you've one-upped yourself again.

Cali, what happens when Verhaeghe gets back in the lineup? Where's he going to shake out?

Straight back to Barkov's line because they have chemistry, and Gusev probably slides down to line 3 with Vatrano and Wennberg, or even the 4th line depending on how good Tippett is doing. My money is on Tippett keeping his spot on the 3rd line.
Lineup is ideally this:
Verhaeghe-Barkov-Hornqvist
Huberdeau-Bennett-Duclair
Vatrano-Wennberg-Tippett
Lammikko-Acciari-Gusev

If Ekblad were healthy, the lineup would look even more impressive.

why would Forsling get bumped off for Montour? He has been playing lights out from all reports.

That line wasn't even together last game. Owen Tippett was on RW all game while Duclair played with Barkov.
If I'm guessing right, that was the first time Bennett's ever played with two other top ten draft picks on his line - and he was centering it.

He kind of is... Huberdeau and Duclair have been driving play at an elite level all season long. It'll take more than a hyper-productive seven games (with a lot of sky-high percentages) to establish Bennett as a bona fide play-driver when he's playing with two terrific playmakers.
Bennett is having a ton of amazing success so far, but slow your roll if you think the Flames just gave up a 60 or 70-point guy (or even a 40 to 50-point guy). He has a long way to go and he's shown himself before to be a very inconsistent player, even when playing with good linemates.

Scoring Winger

Bennett's value has been obvious. With Anaheim always wanting Bennett, they saw his potential and need in the western conference of big bodied centers. Anaheim has a good read on these types and Calgary should pick up on that. Florida is benefiting from another Flames mistake. The player we want/need, was in our possession. If that wasn't happening in Calgary, that's not on Bennett, that's on the management/coaches for ruining him in Calgary.

I dunno, maybe he doesn't. I would assume age and experience get preference with Q.

Elite level?
Anthony Duclair had 18 points in 31 games playing predominantly with Verhaege and Barkov before Bennett arrived. A 48 point pace.
A bit of an overstatement there, and I'm not trying to take away from Duclair, I think he's made some gorgeous plays on that line.

I mean, I pretty much thought that before the trade.

Taking a while to get to 5000
|
I guess we can look at a few ways and none shine positively on Calgary.
Bennett needed good line mates to play with to bring out his potential. Even if its an unsustainable pace, its still happening. He never got a long look with that talent here or the talent here he did get a look with isn't of the same quality as Florida.
So the talent here isn't up to par, the coaching has been awful or both.
Its not a great look no matter how you slice that. Even if its not a huge sample size.

I know you did. I am far more skeptical.
Duclair has provided the Panthers with 8.6 goals above replacement this season (according to Evolving-Hockey). Huberdeau, 9.1.
Bennett came into Florida having provided Calgary with zero goals above replacement this year. -4.2 last year. 3 in 2018-19. -9.3 in 2017-18.
He's in the midst of a ridiculously good stretch in Florida but he's been a poor play-driver for most of his career. I think it's awfully presumptuous to cast him as a Marc Savard-type. I think Dylan Strome is a far better comparison.
Calgary may have developed him poorly but I just don't think a consistent top-six forward is there. I see a great third-line 30 to 35-point guy going forward for Florida.

Has anyone heard anything from Emil Heineman regarding being traded to the Flames?
I’m excited to see how he progresses as well and it’d be nice to hear from him.

I really doubt it's the coaching. Flames are really doing spectacular with Sutter as we speak. The team is still mediocre at best.

Yeah, it's really stupid to collect so many valuable assets that you lose one to expansion.
You know who will lose assets? The top teams. Last time the Flames lost a UFA because they had no one worth taking.
Congrats to the Flames. How did the future look after that?
