Kind of sad that our highest draft pick ever has essentially turned into two seconds.
I held out hope for an awful long time that Sam was going to find his way here and really live up to the billing one day but alas, it was not to be. Good luck Sam.

Another good move for the player and team. Treliving getting assets and giving his guys opportunities, that's good management. Will truly miss Sam Bennett. Hopefully he finds his footing in FL. Will be interested in them in the playoffs. The GM giving us hope.

Okay everyone, I am now selling tickets for the Florida Panthers playoff bandwagon. Only $20 a head. I will send you my Venmo details for payment.

I figured a 2nd would do it, so this exceeds expectations for me.
I like that it is a 2022 2nd as well. More currency for what looks like a much better draft than 2021.

I am pleasantly surprised with the return, but I hold this a major blow to the organization despite knowing all to well it was inevitably coming.
Bennett was/is one of the biggest disappointments in recent Flames memory. Having your 4th overall pick turn into nothing more than what amounts to 2 second round picks 5 years later is abysmal and likely a huge reason the Flames are now where they are.

Well, as Burke once said about Bennett: "In order to want to be traded, a player must play to be tradeable". An equivalent of two 2nd round picks is not bad, of course, considering Bennett's game level this season, but still... it is hard to forget that he was the highest ever draft pick of the organization.

Good luck Sam Bennett. Doubt he gets his QO, so there's even a distant outside chance we could resign him all said and done lol. Doubtful we ever see him in red again though.

Kids usually play on the bottom lines in the SHL so the numbers are definitely not bad.

That’s fantastic return for the player he’s become.
Sucks he didn’t turn into what we hoped we’d be, but for what he’s become that’s good return.

seems like a solid trade...all things considered, i thought a second + a late pick.
So, this is more than i thought they would get.

8 points in 15 games under Sutter...
I'd say he played his way out of town and made himself tradeable.

It sounds like he projects to play on the bottom lines in the NHL too, so could just replace Sam in a few years LOL

Quote:
Heineman is the type that can fit anywhere in the lineup and play any role. There's a strong push to his stride, which gives him added acceleration and top speed while skating in a straight line. He's always got his feet moving, always maintains a high battle-level, and never shies away from making personal sacrifices to improve the two-way health of his team. -EliteProspects 2020 NHL Draft Guide
