Tyler Parsons time to shine. The Heat have 8 games left in their regular season.

I'm happy for Dave.
One of the few players I genuinely wish good for regardless of the team he's on. And I cheer for very few after they walk out our door. Iggy and a small handful.
Genuinely great person.
I wish he had found his next level here.

I honestly didn't think much of Rittich as an NHL goalie but I think the dude is awesome
usually when a guy leaves I hope he does terrible TBH...with Rittich unless he is against the Flames I hope he does awesome. Will be nice to see him with some run support, I hope for his sake he doesn't blow a playoff game in TO though. Could turn into a Ray Finkle situation.

Re: return
I'll take anything in the 1st-3rd rounds for anything we have that is considered "depth".
Considering the work we've done in the first three rounds since the start of this rebuild, those are all valuable picks.
We get the Neal third too. Package those for a 2nd or use them, either way we're getting set up to haul a number of decent prospects this draft.
Also Rittich's series against Toronto likely sealed this trade for us.

There is little doubt in my mind that Treliving thoroughly surveyed the market. He’d have taken better if it was available. A 3rd next year when hopefully scouting will be more normal (fingers crossed) sounds like fair value to me.

I'm in the camp that believes a 3rd is a great return for a UFA backup goalie, and for all we know he could end up back here again. It's likely a rental unless he goes on a real tear, which good for him if he does.
Also will be rooting for him and Brodie, 2 great Flames.

It’s 50% for the rest of this season... a 3rd round for a un drafted UFA to be is ok to me, there wasn’t much more to get with a few goalies available.

In a bad year I’d have thought Rittich would’ve brought back a 2nd rounder but I can’t complain. Who else would the leafs have gone after had Rittich not worked out?

Makes you wonder how much this played into our aggressive pursuit of Markstrom.
He was elite against us, but historically played quite average against the rest of Canada.

He was 4th in Vezina voting and beat the Wild and Blues in the playoffs standing on his head. He was good against lots of teams. Maybe the Canadian div wasn't the best fit but he was still lights out before the injury.
He has been bad against Edmonton apparently but they offered him 5x7
Maybe a bit of a factor I guess but I still think Markstrom is elite and will get back there soon

Nice memory of BSD celebrating a Johnny OT or SO goal before he scored.

Any Flames GM making a trade with the Leafs should be fired.

When Calgaryboy was here in 2017 we both got to meet the parents of David Rittich and thier autistic son. They came every year to watch their son play.
Of course Calgaryboy was given to opportunity to go down to the dressing room and meet Ritter himself.

good luck to BSD!!
I always liked the guy. Hopefully, he is able to light it up in Toronto.
Campbell has turned out to be a steal for Toronto. I was a bit surprised LA traded him, but understand the issues LAK had at the time of the trade.

But with the Kings in a rebuild and unable to trade Quick, and rookie Cal Petersen proving a quick study in the pipeline, the organization was facing a three-goalie logjam. They also had a desperate need for more young talent at other positions
