It's definitely the hats.

Is it a different shade of blue than their ones from a decade ago? it looks bad on TV

Vlad is looking super athletic out there. Didn’t stay on the bag but still really impressive to see.

Totally didn’t expect that at all. Seemed to do the splits.

Jays are looking aggressive on the bases which is great to see. Why not make the pitchers think harder?

The umps strike zone seems to be slightly off today already. Both teams outside corners have been inconsistent according to the box visual (unless the camera is also off).

Bichette a little jumpy today behind the plate. Overall, we're hanging in there, though. This is one of the best teams the league.

Calls behind the plate have been pretty unacceptable today, but I've come to terms with that being the case until we move full time to a non-ump system. I mean that last pitch outside you could almost see the umpire willing it to be a strike after getting booed by Yankee stadium on a ball that was 6 inches outside.

Yeah the ump is fighting the strike zone big time today.

There are some terrible calls by the ump for both sides.

Yep, he's off and fighting it, but as is always the case with Umps they feel they need to project confidence and assuredness, so he's doing just that, which is making things worse.

They need to react to being off the same way players do. Take a step back and some deep breaths and try to relax and get your game back. Don't try to confound everyone with aggressive calls.

Love that the Yankees picked up Jay Bruce.

Looks like Vlad has some pretty solid speed. Last year, he ran the bases like he thought he had speed...this year he actually has it. Could be a huge asset.

The Jays early on seem to just be making the right play. Montoyo made the right pitching substitutions the first game so we’ll see. Nothing glaring from anyone in the lineup so far. Just playing well from a decision standpoint.

Damn, poor at bats from Tellez and Jansen. Lots of potential that inning, you really need to cash something in that situation against the Yankees.

Hell yeah, he's a totally different player. Such a blast to watch right now. I was taken aback by that speed around the bases.

Great to hear that Springer probably could have been playing this series and almost definitely will be playing when he's eligible to return. (Friday, I think?).

The pick at first and then the stretch on Biggio’s throw, he looks like a legitimate 1st baseman.

I do love the teams aggression on the basepaths, stealing forces the other team to execute, and mistakes lead to runs!

Feel like we left Stripling in there a batter too late.

Stripling worked his way to a lot of 2 strike counts but just lacked some finish. Hopefully the bullpen can pick him up.

Another game on pace for ~4 hours. MLB really needs to figure out a way to speed up the pace of play.

Personally I was fine with Stripling being pulled where he was. Chatwood has just had bad luck.
