Right because they are so good at scoring on their chances.

I won't get after Markstrom too hard as you are right about the quality, but he hasn't been as good as Hellebyuk tonight, and he's not playing as well as Mike Smith this season, so he's open to criticism no matter what.

Gnite CP.

I think this is it as far as cheering for wins. I'm back on the train of cheering for losses till the dumbass gm that's put together this masterpiece is kicked to the curb.

I’m willing to bet that the vast majority of those goals are due to defensive breakdowns from the turds in front of him. Goals against is a team stat as much as it is a goaltending stat.

I’m sorry but I just can’t get on board with ragging on the goaltending this year. Both goalies have been fine. The team in front of them has not.

Markstrom might of peaked last year. Canucks rode him pretty hard the last few years. Not blaming him tonight just overall this season he’s been pretty meh.

do you think the Jets aren't executing better than the Flames? Compare the Jets 2 on 1 to the Flames 2 on 1

Monahan and Tkachuk are not good. What is up with these two? If Tkachuk keeps playing this poorly I hope they consider trading him. This feels like more than a slump somehow.

Hey, I didn't say the Flames would be the team to beat, I just said they'd be golden.

They have many issues and Markstrom is currently one of them.

There were plenty of defensive breakdowns early in the season too, but Markstrom was making the tough saves his team needed him to make.

Lately he hasn't been making those tough saves.

No one said markstrom has been "bad"

But he hasn't been "good".

He hasn't been the better goalie in a game in a long time.

Tkachuk has been terrible today, he is single handedly killing any momentum that he comes near.

I am gonna disagree with you. Monahan is not a 3rd liner. He is a boederline NHLer right now. His only skill is gone. Completely useless.

Roast away.

Tkachuk continues to prove that his agent did a masterful job with that contract. Flames now either trade him or have to pay him $9m per year...

Just brutal

The difference I see it so far is that when Winnipeg has an odd man rush their top players capitalize on it. For us it's Gadreau to Monahan who bobbles the puck. Or Tkachuk to Lindholm who is covered by 2 guys and loses the puck for a goal the other way.

Which players have been the dominant forces in the game?

Do the Flames have ONE in the top 6?

I'm not watching but it wouldn't matter how better Markstrom played if the team is only scoring a goal or two a game. You can't expect a shutout or one goal allowed every night.

Other teams are burying their chances. The Flames are finding ways to screw them up or shoot it right at the goalie.

if you are going to quote me quote the whole post without editing please

Jets are executing on the Flames mistakes...again compare the 2 on 1s the teams recently had. Jets are executing far better.

I don’t think Tkachuk has had a good game this season has he?

He’s been awful. Like, maybe a toss up between him and Nordstrom?
