Those are the optimal lines for this roster. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

Enough tinkering and just deploy this group this way and ride it out win or lose.

In the immortal words of someone I'm sure

It takes skill to play the game, it takes cojones to win the game.

Hoping to see this team bring both on the same night tonight.

Flames beat Montreal twice, Toronto and the Oilers

Paper thin margin between the teams.

2 points in 10 games is about a 16 point difference over 82 games, which is a big difference.

Over the larger sample size, the Jets would be on pace for 104 points and a GD of +45. The Flames, 79 points and -31.

There is a huge chasm between these teams.

But for some reason I’m predicting a 3-2 Calgary win. Why not?

I'm still cheering for wins, but not expecting much.

Tonight's lines have been what I've wanted pretty much sine the beginning of the season. If Lindholm makes the team better being the RW on the top line then I don't care if he's supposed to be a center or not.

Flames win the next three, all in overtime, to mess with TO/Coiler fans.
I mean, if you can't cheer for Yanet, what the hell can you cheer for?

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Of course it's what Johnny and Monahan want...someone who can cover their sorry asses at both ends of the ice.

One of the things I hated about Ward was when he went “back” to the bubble lines earlier this year and the Flames won their next game. His arrogance afterwards — “we knew those lines work” — really rubbed me the wrong way. I believe we lost the next game, and then Ward went back to the “old” lines after that.

I’m interested to see how they perform tonight — Sutter has probably seen enough out of the old lineup and isn’t waiting around to make changes.

Probably a better optic than Ward saying "What the F do you want me to do with this barrel of crap? Doesn't matter how you stir it."

Easy 6 points for the Jets coming up. Almost like a mid season break for them, playing a team that has no heart or desire. If the Jets put in a decent 50% effort in each of the first periods of these next three games, the Flames will wilt like spinach in a pot of water and the Jets will be able to coast and use the rest of the games to practice their casual unpressured break outs, unobstructed passing in the offensive zone, and shooting at the shorter tutor.

Sigh. This team, and this season, blows.

Time for Winnipeg to break the curse? The Jets have only one S/O win at the Saddledome since 2014.

It’s never an easy 6 points, the minute you think that, the minute you are screwed. That the NHL.

That would be exactly on par for the Flames.

And then when they miss by 2-3 points at the end of it we can pin it entirely on peeing away points to the Senators, something frustratingly preventable with half decent execution.

I’ll watch later when I can blast through it on PVR and probably work through most of it instead of my usual watching intently and listening to Ball & Co.

I’m not beyond watching but I think I’m beyond cheering for a while.

It'll be background watching while I xbox it up, at least until the third jets goal.

The optimist in me says that this is the game where it clicks for Johnny and Chucky, and our best players put on a show. The optimist in me is a lying ######bag though, so I wouldn't trust him if I were you.
