Default LF: Hockey Cards - Unopened Packs/Boxes

Hey everyone!!! I have started re-living my youth and went to my storage locker to unpack an ungodly amount of hockey cards from 1954-1992

Anyways I am looking to start collecting again and I am on the hunt for unopened packs/cases of UPPER DECK, O-PEE-CHEE, TOPPS, PRO-SET, FLEER ect...

Anyone have anything lying around they are looking to part with? Any leads on where i might find some un-opened packs/cases?

Open to trades/Cash purchases

My brother is hardcore into cards. He goes up to Edmonton a few times a year to go to Wayne's, Cardsharks and Coin&Stamp. Card collecting is getting very popular since Covid started so prices are starting to reflect that and the hidden gem places are few and far between nowadays. Let me know if you have any questions for him.

Funny enough I found a binder and box of hockey cards when I was doing some cleaning over the weekend. I collected when I was a kid and again in 2005 for a few years trying to get Crosby and Ovechkin rookie cards.

Are you just looking for the most recent series or something older? Looking for cards that might have value or just any unopened packages? I was huge into cards about 10 years ago. There are a few places in town that would have them

Maple Leaf Sports - I used to go here a lot and have bought cases of UD.
Andy's Sportscards

You can also get packages from London Drugs and Toys R Us. I got a few Crosby rookie's from UD blaster boxes way back.

- not looking for anything specific but ideally unopened packages before 1992. I am heading out today to go grab a UD Series 2 as today was the relase date. Honestly trying my best to wrap my head around all the new terms now Blasters, YG, Patches ect ...

- I am out in Okotoks so was hoping there would be somewhere here to purchase but looks like i will be making my rounds in Calgary

As noted above, sports cards have exploded since the pandemic. And if you have any higher end rookies or rare inserts (Gretzky, Lemieux, Crosby, Ovechkin, etc), they will be worth a lot more than they used to be.

I would add that the hobby has changed a lot since the pre '90s or even since the late 2000's. I started getting back into it last year, but the cost and speculation/investment component is largely keeping me on the sidelines in terms of new releases.

OP: There are also a couple of stores in the South Calgary -- Eastridge Sports Cards near McLeod and Glenmore, and a smaller card/bookshop on Fairmont Drive.

I also recently got into cards during the pandemic. My buddy has been huge into collecting for years so he's been helping me out on what to look for and stuff. He got me into a couple different groups on facebook that does a bunch of trade/sell/buy stuff. Also i go into group breaks every now and then.

I recently experienced something similar. I went through many cards I own for the first time in 10 years. I did so after seeing the Kobe Bryant rookie cards jump astronomically in price and knew I had an absolute mint rookie of his. It brought in renewed interest into collecting as well.

For that UD series 2 box you bought...If you get a Kaprizov young guns, sleeve it and throw it in a top loader right away. Sells for $350-400 on ebay today. The hobby is so hot right now that even getting a card professionally graded will take at least 6-9 months and those companies jacked their prices as well.
