I was thinking of changing my user name to Noah Hanifin's muffin shot the night he got his first goal. Glad to see him starting to do something. Too much talent to hang back and score less than guys like Regehr or Tanev. You're a thoroughbred kid...now go! Maybe Sutter can awake this guy the same way he woke up Regehr and got him to play to his potential. Totally different style of player, but there's way more to get out of him, and it's starting to show.

Interesting to see Hanifin get a spin on the top powerplay unit in the third period.

Small adjustment that Sutter has brought in? Stick placement on forecheck/backcheck. This team now pokes/swats/bats at absolutely everything. They always take an extra stride to get close enough to give themselves a shot at disrupting the opposition’s play - on all 200 feet of ice.

Noah Hanifin, #1 defenceman.
Andrew Mangiapane, #1 winger.
Jacob Markstrom, #1 goalie.

My goodness. What a difference an actual bench boss makes.

I thought Hanifin was best Flame tonight and in the first game against Montreal. I don't think I've said that once when Peters and Ward were coaching. Would be huge if he finally took that step to becoming that #1 defenseman.

Gaudreau and Tkachuk are struggling in the offensive zone but I also thought they were quietly making the safe plays that Sutter likes. They'll get better with more time.
