Great game, I don't have much to add so here are a few of my 9-year-old's observations during the game:
"Their new coach is old."
"Valimaki is kind of weird looking, like his face."
(In posh English accent) "Oliver...Kylington...Oliver... Kylington...he has a very fancy sounding name."
(In posh English accent) "Elias...Lindholm...Elias...Lindholm...he has a fancy sounding name too, no actually he doesn't really."
"Flames are playing way better since they got a new coach."

Looked like a totally different team
We know Ward was a nice dude but... not a good fit for us.
Everyone has been playing well. I like how hanifin turned on his offensive game and being involved and shooting more
Shout out to Ritchie for throwing his body around
And
Winning the puck battles and creating space for his line mates
Gio.. I don’t like him but he has been playing well (still slow hehe)
Ryan... I have been harsh on him but.. he has been playing well with Benny and leivo
Keep it up, team!

Should've mentioned Zebulon is Elias' middle name.

That's really good to hear, I hope it keeps going for him, many of us want to see him get more of a chance. Nesterov had a pretty tough game last outing, so it may just mean Kylington gets in there again.

The guy in the Flames organization who reminds me of Marchand is Pelletier, not that I expect him to finish like Marchand.

Id like a talley in the next GT monday of how many times Sutter is mentioned vs Mcdavid. Maybe the Oilers will get a partial dose of how sickening it gets

It was by far the best Kylington night of his career. He looked confident and used his blazing speed to get in the play every time. His speed is such an asset if used correctly.
Not sold on Nesterov as 6D so this was a pleasant surprise.
Would love to hear from DS if he has corrected something with Kylington. But if he keeps playing like that he is sure to be a Kraken come June.

We could use that speed with guys like McD. and Mackinnon around.

Was absolutely killing me all game trying to figure out why this Ritchie character on the 1st line was so familiar. Was than reminded of Ritchie who played for Sutter v1.0 after the lockout.
No wonder Sutter loves him so much!

I would think, with the exception of injuries or maintenance days, we’ve seen the last of Simon and Nordstrom for the season, which is just fine with me.
Nice to see a bump in Leivo’s game under Sutter. 4th line looks better than it has in ages.

Re: Kylington
For those that missed it, in the post-game interviews Ryan Huska talked about how since Tuesday it has felt like a complete reset in the locker room and he specifically named Kylington as a player that "feels like he has a new lease on life".
This may just be the tip of the iceberg for this guy. A type of player with every tool you want in today's game. Exciting.

Kids are always the most truthfully observant. My kid asked watched a some of the Ottawa series and watched the second period last night with me. She asked why Ottawa was so much better than Montreal. Which, in fairness to her, one could assume was the case watching the games against both teams.

Any player that was in the doghouse with the old coach must get that lift if a new coach is hired, so Kylington and Bennett feeling more up is no surprise. Kylington didn’t hurt himself any with his play so I expect he will get a longer look. Sutter will still want to see some guys play, to see what he’s got to work with, so you might see Nordstrom, Froese, or maybe even Mackey at some point

All this discussion about whether the Sutter “bump” is sustainable...finger crossed!
I watch the Flames for my enjoyment and entertainment! That said I’ve watched the last two games from the drop of the puck to the final buzzer....for the first time likely since the Hartley days.....and lest I forget...the whole game with the Sound on!

The next 4 games will be big. Two against the Oilers and two against the Leafs. These are games where we will see a better test of how quickly and dramatically their character is adapting under Sutter, and of how big a difference Sutter's in-game coaching and adaptations make when facing adversity.

I’m curious how Sutter deals with McDavid. I wonder if he assigns Connor’s old buddy Sam to get intimate with him all game. I feel like Bennett would thrive in a “you have one job to do and we’re counting on you” role, and especially when it involves making someone else’s life miserable.
