Come on boys. 2004 all over again please!

If someone would have asked me to bet on Treliving hiring Darryl, I would have bet $1,000 against it. Just didn't think he'd have the guts to hire a former GM as his head coach. Honest truth. Now, I am starting to like Treliving. I love Darryl Sutter!

Can he kick some IQ into Bennett's head?

Hopefully he doesn't have to quarantine so Darryl's first game back coaching is the Battle of Alberta...

One of the first names I thought of besides Bennett when I saw this news was Kylington. Talk about sink or swim, holy moly. It could go either way, not much in between.

If there was anything they could possibly do to salvage my interest in this season...

The three year contract shouldn’t be overlooked.

That’s a message to the players.

He has more term than Johnny.
He has more term than Tkachuk.
He has more term than Gio.
He has the same term as Monahan.

The guys seen as the “Core” of this team just got a message that this is their coach and he’s not going anywhere while they are on these contracts.

I'm totally guessing, but I would say he definitely knew. BT seems like a stand up guy and his mind was probably made up days ago, at least. Makes sense he would give Ward a heads up long before the news broke.

As mentioned before, I don't think we should be crediting Treliving in any way on this decision.

His hand was forced. We'll see how this turns out, but given everything we know from the outside this wasn't a Tre solution.

Man what a night of mixed emotions. The sadness of the loss of an NHL icon (no matter what team you cheer for), to this flames news. I kind of feel guilty being happy tonight....

Kicking players is more of a Bill Peters thing.

Any proof of this? I honestly haven't seen that. Please share.

You know there is no proof now and this is the kind of thing that comes out later

Like when the owners made Darryl fire Keenan

I didn't say a word about Phillips...

I just said they shouldn't play Ritchie on a nightly basis and should call up somebody from the farm instead. Pat said something like "well, we know how you feel about Phillips."

Justification for a coach that hasn’t coached in the NHL in a long while being a good thing?

That's why, typically, anything posted on fan forums is speculation. Educated or otherwise.

This is the former.
