I said it's tough to play a fast style when your forwards aren't very fast overall. Look at the forwards......not a lot of speedsters in there.
 |
I get it but speed is puck movement and decision making

It’s about knowing your options before you get the puck. Having your teammates making themselves available. Creating and exploiting odd man situations

Nobody can outskate a crisp pass

Brodie wanted to go to TO I'm not sure there is much they could have done...also, he had some terrible playoffs inconsistency like the rest of the roster.
I think him and Tanev are pretty even...I guess Brodie has more offence but he has yet to score a goal so IDK. Team has the same record right now with Brodie or Tanev IMO, neither would be an issue.

Are you actually saying Ward's system is specifically tailored to the Flames because they are slow?

As bad as the Flames have looked, and it's been real bad lately, they are still in the mix.

ETA: If the Flames are out, then I will be fine pulling for this Leafs team to go all the way. They play a good brand of hockey.
 |
Win their next three games and they are tied with the Oilers and for a playoff spot with even games no matter what else happens

Two are at home against the Sens (so I'm sayin' there's a chance)

They didn't look this slow under Peters or Gulutzan. This is as slow looking a Flames team as I can remember and it's definitely by design as Ward has them playing this way.

No more Bennett avatar and you didn't go with Ron Swanson instead? I mean it's a solid choice too but I'm a little disappointed

Hmm... the Coil reverting to their true selves...
Hmm... a couple of wins here and the Flames are right back in the hunt...

According to Lucic, the team's issues aren't due to coaching. If that's the case, it's the players who aren't doing what they need to do. Whatever the remedy is, they're literally in now or never territory...

It's been mentioned for sure, but the current 4th line is a major problem. That needs to get sorted out.People have been making light of Ryan's return, and I get the joke, but still, I am expecting to see a better performance with him centering that line.

Budget quality ATL All veteran players on this team can go to seattle. Russell, Larsson, et al.
I never thought I'd say this but I think I'd actually PREFER Lucic to Neal at this point.
Well we got a goal. So there’s that
Stalock is currently at the border, vehicle idling, listening to the game and contemplating retirement.

I've said it before but I think a massive difference this season is no TJ and a shell of his former self Gio. When those two were in their prime and skating and creating offense it was difference maker. They don't have anything remotely like that anymore and it shows.

A huge difference. IMO they should use Kylington. Valimaki tries stuff and I like it. Hanifin was activating earlier but has become more conservative as his pair takes on shutdown.

Yeah. Had to turf the Bennett one.

Long before Bennett joined the Flames I selected the name. Then he grew a sweet Lanny-esque stache so I used that as an avatar

Then some people kept feeling a need to respond to my posts by bringing him up, seemingly disproportionately often.

Will see if it works. So far, so good

The Swanson suggestion is not a bad one too, I’ll keep that in mind if I ever decide to change it again.

I thought of our previous chat and I assumed that was why I brought it up
