I'm just thankful we have such an elite set of coaches, with such a long track record of success at the NHL level, that we know for certain the core of this team is rotten.

I hope we extend Ward for an additional 5 years so we can ensure his magic fingerprints are all over our rebuild.

We can argue about whether Ward’s systems or execution are to blame but either way, he has to be the goat. They either are doing what he says and it’s not working, or he is not able to get them to do it right. I’m not big on a coach having to motivate adult players, but there it is.

The only guy I see who gives effort game in and out is Tanev. I think that’s telling.

This is fair and I think it’s both.

Guys hate the system and aren’t giving full effort.

I’d clean house of the coach, and clean out anybody that might be breeding this mindset in the locker room too.

SMH Derek Wills on the Fan right now. The Leafs were missing Andersen and others from their lineup. The Flames rode almost superhuman goaltending performances to secure the 3 of 4 points from Toronto.

The system was not ok then, it was not ok tonight, and it hasn't been ok throughout the season.

His personell decisions are awful. Start Zag. Let the team know they need to step up. If he falters, your no worse off with Rittich on the bench.

Star goalie on IR; Ward plays Rittich 3rd in 4 against the worst team in the league. The fact that he doesn't know that they will no-show is damning enough for a firing.

i think they started well for the first few minutes. i think they tried to press the attack but sequences died before a shot. but good lead up to.

opponent gets up but it seems slight mis handle or bad bounce is ending up in the net especially after a cgy response. passing was a little off but recovered.

they did play different from my initial reaction play style. more offensive. defensive style they are in games. but it's kind of do you give more time or is there no time need to just play whichever style gets points.
