At worst maybe he's speculating more as its a dry season with fewer moves to be expected.

Friedman is Friedman. Having just the Canadian division to really cover is probably forcing him to focus more on the Canadian teams and as such he's going to follow the smoke to see if there is fire. Since Calgary has been a dumpster fire this year he's been following that smoke.

I just wonder how he got the closed door meeting / Tkachuk info. We usually don’t hear much from the Flames so all this info leaking out is new for this team.

The team is airtight on trade info because management is close-mouthed. This was players, and, in particular, Chucky. Maybe he told Keith and Keith told Elliotte.

The Bennett thing was one thing, I think Elliotte should have done his due diligence there but he had information from an agent so fair. Report it.

What really bothered me is when he reported on the TJ Brodie deal that didn’t go through. You shouldn’t be reporting on things that didn’t happen, or at least specifics. So now Brodie is a free agent and he knows one team had him traded and the other wanted to trade for him. Easy choice, and Brodie himself even said the fact that they tried to trade for him factored into his decision.

Yeah I think he is looking to stir #### up about CGY. I think media people are looking around their industry and thinking they need to be in the middle of anything. What posted on here about Gelinas saying something is pure speculation and total bull####.

More specifically when Tkachuk was cheering Bennett on during the fight, I believe Friedman said that Gelinas asked him to tone it down.
