1:55 pm local time. Not sure if that includes 11 minute data lag.

I have to be honest here.
Watching NASA TV’s live feed of a bunch of blue polo-shirted people stare at computer screens and talk in some sort of abbreviated code is extremely boring.

Is mission control making any adjustments to the rover as it lands?
 Or is it all pre-programmed?

Wouldn't the distance and time delay with the speed of light make it impossible for mission control to make any meaningful changes to it as it lands?

Follow-up, they just said the parachute deployed, with the time delay for info to come back to earth, does that mean it deployed in reality 14min ago?

The rover is deciding where to land by mapping the ground in real time! Insane technology.

Yup by the time the signals were received that it had entered the atmosphere the rover had already landed.

It's all pre-programmed, the lander lands itself.
