The short middle pass is being taken away (the one everyone wanted them to use). But they should be able to hit someone at centre ice.

Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm

If that Bennett line can continue this play that's a pretty solid top 9.

agreed, but that is clearly their breakout - every line does it every night

(this is one of the primary reasons so many of us are frustrated with Ward)

That's so awesome that SNET put the Schmidt shiftclock up just as he basically puts it in his own net.
2:08 lol.. all those roids got him thinking he's Draisaitl.

With a 2 man advantage for a minute (well, less since they scored).

I might be starting to sound like a broken record, but the evolution of Lindholm at centre makes this the obvious best option and trade that would bring the best return.
 |
I like having an extra center. I cannot help but wonder if Monahan could play RW though. Pretty crazy that that is the one scenario that has never been tried across seven years.

Not the greatest but at least they started moving their feet in the 2nd.

When they start skating they can take over the game, the Canucks looks like an extremely fragile team. Flames need to keep the pressure up in the 3rd, if not even more.

this makes the most sense, but Ward seems keen on playing Lindholm down the middle

And if you can’t do that in season then roll 4 lines and just try to bury other teams bottom 6.

Tkachuk - Lindholm - Leivo
Gaudreau - Monahan - Simon
Mangiapane - Backlund - Ryan (when healthy, try Gawdin there for now)
Lucic - Bennett - Dube

Try to bring in a RW to replace Simon at the trade deadline. Or maybe try Phillips in one of the spots.

That’s going to be a tough forward group to match up against.

Lindholm is better at center as he can carry the puck, try Monahan on left wing and move Gaudreau to the right.

Lindholm himself wants to play center and says he is a natural center. I think he is earning that right.
