Let's just pretend the Oilers actually make the playoffs. What, exactly, are Connor McDavid and Draisaitl going to do after they've played 30 minutes a night and spent the most tiring 5 minutes of theverygame on the ice the whole time? In a shortened season????
Such dumb player management. You're down two goals.

Jesus tap dancing Christ, here we go. Sam Bennett had two good shifts in the third period. One where he jammed a gimme from Gaudreau through the pads of Koskinen and then the follow up where he drew a penalty. Beyond that he was invisible and helped neutralize the Flames best scoring duo. Let's not forget the first two periods where they couldn't move the puck, their struggles in their own zone, and the fact they were minus for much of the night.

He may have been the most consistent forward this year from an effort standpoint. He’s had no puck luck (or maybe just isn’t a natural scorer). I still wish he’d get some time with Monahan and Gaudreau because I think he’s perfect for them.

Tonight, the Oilers and Canucks allowed a combined 11 goals against. Pretty good night!

Sam had a nice night so deserves a pass for the rest of the evening.

Just a fun game to watch. At least they kept it close after that abysmal first which allowed for the comeback.
Maybe i’m doing something wrong because the broadcast just doesn’t bother me. Why do we care what any of those guys think or say? I do like the singing goal call though.

After the first 20 minutes, I was not expecting this to be a fun game.
Draisaitl is a very good player, but McDavid is a total game-changer when he's on the ice. The play of both teams pretty much revolves around what he's doing. Guy is a total mutant.
Beyond those two dudes though, that team is utter weaksauce. Thank goodness they didn't figure out a way to pick up Markstrom in the offseason and are stuck with a dude who's missing a couple of fingers on his glove hand.
Still, nice to see the Flames finally up their give-a-#### level. As others have said, Backlund, Gaudreau, Dube, and Lucic were real standouts in that department. Game 10 of the season series should be a total gong show if tonight is any indication. There's already a healthy level of hate there.
I still don't like the blasty jerseys (though they suit Bennett for some reason), and the first period brought back some bad memories, but I'm glad they started off their renaissance with a hard fought win.

Dude, how will you sleep at night knowing that Bennett scored the insurance goal that helped us take this win? Jeez. How about cheering for him so you can get your wish of him getting traded?

Sitting through a SNET BOA these days I'm pretty sure sheds months off of our lifespans.
It's a battle to endure 2.5 hours when you don't like or care for McDavid or the Oilers, because both will get shoved down your damn throat start to finish regardless of how the game goes.
The panel on McDavid reminds me of how my coworkers will literally change their personalities on a whim to kiss the boss's ass.
It's pathetic.
All love for the Flames for sticking it to them.

I wanted to state that I thought the Flames play in their own end in the last few minutes was great, they didn't give the Oilers a lot of quality shooting lanes and there were no real rebounds.
Also hilarious that the Oilers still have zero trust in the rest of their lineup that Connor and Leon were out for 5 minute shifts even though they could barely move.
Just think if the Flames had a good first period, they would have put up 10 points to Koskinen, too bad they lost another goalie.
Oh and Derpth.

I don't care what commentators say. It just doesn't bother me. Like who cares? It's like it personally wounds people. I feel bad for posters who let THAT rattle them.
But again great performance from the team!

The line in the 3rd about how the McDavid penalty "was clearly not a penalty" is what set me over the edge on CCP tonight. The McD love fest - I expected that. But a horrific take acting as if it is fact? Gtfo.
The guy was 2 ft from Markstrom when his skate got tapped. He was going into the goalie either way, only question is at what angle.
Refs got it right

I was pretty frustrated with him until the third - especially the play where he insisted on carrying the puck into Gaudreau’s lane and they couldn’t get out of each other’s way.
That said, if they don’t play Dube there, they should keep him there fore a while.
