I don’t know about that. He hasn’t been himself for a loooong time now. Talbot took the starting job from him in 2020, and Rittich coming unconditioned before the playoffs during covid didn’t help his case either. He’s just not the same as he used to be.

Backlund with a well earned -2 this period. Just absolutely lost for someone supposed to be elite defensively. Haven't seen that Backlund all season.

That's the GT though. It's always been this way.
People need to learn the difference between being critical and having a meltdown because your team just gave up a goal.
The Flames aren't exactly playing a great period, but the Jets give up a ton of chances. The Flames just need the next one.

I’m sorry two or three out of the three goals against don’t go in on a competent goaltender. He’s going down early and is way out of position every single time.

I think he always was. I think we worked around his weaknesses.
He is now compared to Markstrom but previous goalies he would have been compared to were stellar goalies such as Jonas Hiller, Karri Ramo, Joni Ortio, Brian Elliott and Mike Smith.

Honestly, the way our vets are not playing well together makes me think the coach has to go. That plus we gave a lot of holes in our lineup .
We seem to grind on them and have a hard time generating chances, Jets come down and easily generate grade A chances.

This is observation bias in full effect and is not grounded in reality.
High-danger chances tonight are tied at three apiece.
Last night, the Flames had 17 high danger chances. The Jets had four.
