I don't know about blow it up. But were in year 5 of Johnny/Monahan its time for one to go. If Johnny doesnt want to stay then him. If we can resign him I think Monahan is a better guy to give up as he's a pure floater.

I'm not one to overreact to early season woes, but I wouldn't mind a true scorched earth rebuild - something we've never had. I'm sure we could get a ton of quality assets for our prime aged players.

I'm just not sold on Lindholm - Monahan as a cup caliber 1 2 bunch at center. Both great goalscorers but neither brings much dynamic play through the middle of the ice.

Boggles the mind that Treliving decided to hire yet another unproven, 'bargain bin' head coach. Boudreau stated he would coach anywhere. Gerard Gallant is still out there... Seriously, Brad. Bite the freakin' bullet and get a proven head coach for once.

I've been an advocate for a retool for a long time but it would be a little bit tough to swallow a Gaudreau trade when he's been legitimately good to start the year.

I would, however, explore moving Giordano and Backlund.

Not sure this is the right thread on game 6 of the season and your backup currently in net.

Though, I am getting concerned that nothing has changed though. If we have another mediocre season it might be time to just scorch the team so we can be back with a younger and hungrier team in a few seasons.

Also don’t want the Flames to miss out on Shane Wright if they do plan to rebuild.

All it takes is one trade deadline to have people overpay and retool on the fly.

Markstrom will win us enough games that we should finish 4th in the division.
Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg are clearly better teams.

Then we can see another 1st round exit and be mediocre as that is the Flames way.

The organization and most fans are always happy with that, so why set your targets higher and blow anything up.

I would have liked to see what this team looked like in front of a competent coach, but I don't think we'll see that before BT is fired or players are moved.
