Reality kicking in. Flames will be fighting with the nucks and oilers for the last playoff spot. Habs, leafs and jets are all better.

The flames are who we all know they are - a mediocre capped out team and I think that's what they'll top out as in the Tre era.

Leivo the worst passer I have ever seen in the NHL.

This team spends more time moving away from the opposing net. Always going backwards. It is infuriating.

Kind of like mid range ski equipment at a yard sale.

I keep seeing one player hustling around and setting themselves up to deliver a bone crushing hit, and every time it's been Johnny, who peels off at the last second. Just once I would like to see him launch into Weber or something. That might wake up the team.

I was just trying to cover all the arguments for why Ward and Treliving should not carry any water for the mediocrity that is the Calgary Flames.

I hope the Flames get better, because I love watching them, but in '14 they were just another inconsistent team. I'm so tired of people missing a Hartley team that was nothing but mediocre.
I never said they were great, I said I missed the identity - that they were down but never out. Maybe we can agree it was at least exciting.

How did Backlund not see Gaudreau had a clear lane on that rush? Instead he dumps it into the corner where no one has a chance to catch up to it.

Mikael Backlund absolutely sucks.

We almost never generate an odd man rush for anymore either, yet we seem to give up 5-10 a game.

The team almost exclusively seems to try and scrum the puck along the boards for a pass back to the point followed by an unscreened shot that doesn't lead to anything.

I don't get it.

Paper means nothing. This team has no balls. Bunch of guys just going through motion.

Every time the Flames move through the neutral zone, the forwards are standing still. Zero speed, zero transition.

I won't excuse the players, but I can't excuse the coach either

Is hitting still allowed in the NHL?

I actually think it’s a belief of “how the game should be played” by Treliving at this stage. If it wasn’t, then why does every coach he hires coach it?

It is baffling.

Don'y understand why Tre didn't claim Perry off Waivers, he literally does more than both Leivo and Simon combined. Here we are again, Johnny and Monny don't have a permanent line mate and heading into the deadline the talk around town is gonna be that we need another forward and we're gonna trade for one. Ain't happening, we all fell for that one, one too many times all Tre is gonna do is drive up the value on the players available and back out like he always does. This team has been broken since the post all star break in 2019........and the trade we've been waiting for to happen, likely won't. Oh well mediocrity isn't bad imagine being an oilers fan, now that's sad.

This team needs to stop following the game plan to a T. It seems like whenever something changes they lose all their focus and can't regroup.
