He's a rookie, so there will be mistakes. Rookies generally spend some time in the pressbox unless they are Makar or Hughes, and inexplicably good right out of the gates. Even future stars only play 2/3s of a rookie campaign.
I actually thought that Nestorov would be the one cycled out for Kylington more, but he has played really well.

I doubt he would have waived to come here.
Way to early to be passing judgement on Valimaki.

Our RW is the weakest link. Simon doesn't do anything for me. Leivos been a big fat no show so far. I'm not digging Mangiapanes game either.
Bennett was 50/50 to me today. Half of his play wasn't great but the other half was solid. No penalties, tons of hustle covering other players gaffes.
Just on a total overview of the team I think out biggest glaring weakness is RW. And nothings gonna get done about it.
Still lots of positives about this years team to be excited about. A lot less negative feels for me when I'm watching so far.
I really appreciate Markstroms presence on the Flames and I think our top 6 D can hang with the best in the league.
If Monny and Johnny keep doing the nice 5v5 scoring thing this year on top of a top ranked PP, we will be fine. And let's not forget Lindholm being an amazing center either.
Just need some better RW options.

Just my opinion, it would be worse!

Backlund, Leivo, Lucic, Bennett, Ryan, Simon and Nordstrom have all been pretty much garbage thus far.
Ward doesn't motivate them to play any better, nor does he discipline them for their poor play.

Its the mix of players. How many different coaches are needed to figure this out?

Our top players were fine. It was game management and line matching. Players have no choice in that.

To be fair, the last coach was actually turning things around. Then he had to go ahead and be a racist ####.

I’m gonna disagree. These guys are a talented group. It’s like we have the tools but no toolbox.

First off, the frequency people here rail on about "have you ever played the game BRO!?" is ridiculous. Yes, I have. I have been hit with pucks, both rubber and roller, I've been hit with hockey balls of varying hardness, I've been hit with dryland training balls. Describing what was done there, was not a wrister. It was a flick. It had no real momentum behind it. Tkachuk's meathead reaction was hilarious and reeks of a guy more upset he couldn't do anything of relevance in game than what was actually done to him.

Your so full of your own ####. Shooting a puck at an opponent is only thing as disrespectful spitting at another player.

Flames are missing a top 6 player. Either need a legit RW or another center so Lindholm can back to RW.

But if you had better players to match, wouldn't you have better results? And yes, Backlund was fine...

Leafs are the best team in the division currently...Calgary lost two one goal games to them despite tons of errors and bad bounces
sort things out, don't throw in the towel just yet
