Here’s an idea, if anyone here is incensed at the overreactions from leafs fans they are being bombarded with, maybe stick to replying in that forum and don’t bring that to CP. go fight with people on Twitter or Reddit or HF. I see no reason why you’d want to go out looking for crazy people and then get mad about it on CP.

Getting back to the North division, it's cool now, but the novelty will wear off pretty soon IMO, only because there's no interdivisional play. If it was a North division like a normal division, then sure, I can maybe get behind that. But I don't think the teams would, given the excessive travel they'd have to do.

It's the top NHL story on Sportsnet and the Leafs media is going crazy about it. Let's not pretend CP fabricated things. This very thread was started by a Leafs fan because he thought it was dirty but "doubted there would be a suspension" as if it were actually a question

Honestly, I would be just as happy to see them not make the cut again. Let the rest of Canada enjoy a couple of round of pure, all-Canadian playoffs without the Oilers. A Flames, Leafs, Habs and Canucks playoffs would probably be my preference.

Not a good look for Matty, but impossible to judge intent, and if people do so, it's hard for bias not to show up. I don't see a suspension in his future, possibly a fine. The Eastern Media is eating it up, however. Not surprising as they were already calling for crosschecks to be greatly penalized in the first game of the season.

Just gossip for the 43 different Leafs beat reporters and radio shock jocks who are trying to out do each other to stir up melodrama...which their fans both expect and crave to make their team seem more vibrant then it is.

Lamneting his presence for remainder of his contract and the worse defenseman since Jeff Finger, according to all accounts and concerned Leaf fans, but soon the next bouncing ball issue takes away the fan and media attention out there to something else that requires TSN and Sportsnet to take up air time to discuss.

Marner will sneeze in an interview next game and the Tkachuk thing will be forgotten out there because the stories will focus on "What happens if all the Leafs get Covid, can the NHL go on? And, "is the old dirty Saddledome to blame for Marner's sneeze (and the assumption is made it's covid) after two games in a row here?".
