Very early yet, but if Tanev can play like last night, he will take and improve on TJ’s minutes.
Really impressed by his game last night.

I've always been very impressed by Tanev and always coveted him. I was super happy when we signed him. I just hope he doesn't lose his skating over his contract, because if that goes, he's not going to be super useful.

Love Brodie but I also think we cut him loose at the right moment.
I read all those pre-season predictions saying how the Leafs were finally set with a top pairing thinking "but Brodie is a #3 now"

Yeah, that was ugly. Leafs are a hot ass mess in their own zone. Brodie looking dreadful and very lost. Were lucky to beat the Habs on Wednesday with how they played.

Second game no biggie.
Leafs D is not great but you watch Andersen on those goals. Yeesh! Flopping, swimming, way out of position. Looking forward to seeing Campbell tomorrow and it wouldn't surprise me to see the Leafs goals against drop a lot next game and all the talking heads saying they've tightened up the D when it's really just a calm goalie in net.

TJ is a hard one to figure out. Fantastic, but specifically when he was on the right side and with Giordano.
Away from each other Gio held his own, but Brodie was a hot mess.
I was a massive fan of his as a Flame but I think defensively we're a markedly better group swapping Brodie and Hamonic for Tanev and Valimaki.
