I'm telling you check out amci. Merger date to be announced next week at the latest. There is 2x upside in the short term minimum. Look at the movement in PLUG and FCEL . This isn't moving as much yet due to the fact the merger hasn't happened. From when this merger was valued and share price $10. FCEL is up over 700% and PLUG is 300%. AMCI is "only" up 50%. Huge potential here.

Reading is hard again but interesting. Could see people chasing this the same as well.
Do options only open up once the merger is complete?

FWIW I have a large position 100% warrants. More sec filings yesterday with updated investor presentation.and increased bonuses for the executives a bit which IMO is a good sign as they are incentivizing the merger to pass. They have to complete by Feb 22 so vote date likely announced next week and vote late Jan early Feb. Once vote date is announced there will be a considerable bump in SP. This is fairly low float and Advent current shareholders have agreed to roll their equity into the company which is a huge sign of confidence in what they're doing. Tailwinds in the sector are huge with Biden win and Democrats taking GA Senate seats. Hugely undervalued but there is a bit of risk on the failure of the merger. Could get in pre vote date announcement and out pre vote date and gain 20%+. They only need 19% of the the public shareholders to vote yes as they've locked in votes elsewhere.

Thanks for the info. I have never looked into warrants before. With the stock price above 10 bucks can you still buy warrants and are they under a different ticker?

Warrants give you the option to purchase a share at $11.50 (once the shares are registered). They can be called once the stock trades over $18 for 20 of 30 days. They trade at a bit of a discount to intrinsic value until they've been called. Then they trade at intrinsic value. For example if SP is $18 that makes the warrant worth $6.50 (11.50+6.50=18). You won't see intrinsic value until the warrants have been called. For example the SP was $17 a couple weeks ago and the warrants were only $4 whereas if they were at intrinsic value they would be $5.50. Warrants trade like a normal stock and the ticker is the same with a W, WS, or WA behind the ticker. AMCI warrants are AMCIW.
Obviously do your own due diligence and understand how the warrants work and the risks involved (value=$0 if merger fails). Also note that not all warrants are equal. Some are 1:1 and some are 2 warrants to redeem for one share. AMCI is 1:1. A 2:1 warrant should be half the value of a 1:1 assuming everything else equal.
Huge leverage on warrants if you work the numbers.
Good info here.

Anyone know what the AMCIU are? Are they the combined share + warrant units sold in the IPO?

Yes combined. I haven't bought any combined units but from what I understand you can get the warrants split off by asking your broker to do that. I assume you get a full warrant with it BUT you should check the SEC filings. Some SPACS you get fractional warrants with each unit. So you may need to buy 4 units to get get 4 shares and 1 warrant. Pretty sure AMCI is 1/1 on the units but keep in mind your broker may charge you to split them. Looks like a good arbitrage opportunity though if 1/1 and no charge to split them.

I’m obviously biased, but those ads are doing a huge disservice to people. It implies that they’re performing miracles with their funds, and frankly the performance is questionable at best. Never mind the fact that advisors provide all kinds of other services for their clients, 5% for their aggressive model through November 30 for 2020 seems incredibly disappointing.

I was looking at news for AMCI and ran across this article, and noticed that it is saying that they will buy back the warrants at $1.50, this worries me that the warrants are trading at 2x their value? Something seems off.
Quote:
The business combination values Advent at a $358 million pro forma post-money enterprise value at a share price of $10.00, assuming no redemptions by AMCI shareholders and no purchase price adjustments. The boards of directors of both Advent and AMCI have unanimously approved the proposed transaction, which is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2020 or early 2021, subject to, among other things, the approval by AMCI's shareholders and Advent’s shareholders, satisfaction of the conditions stated in the Merger Agreement and other customary closing conditions. In connection with the business combination, AMCI will also amend its warrants at the closing of the business combination to cash-out all of its outstanding warrants for a payment of $1.50 per warrant, subject to approval by its warrantholders.

That's old wording. This has been changed in the SEC filings. Wording was also "subject to approval from current warrant holders" which wouldn't happen as who would vote to devalue their warrants. Warrants are undervalued right now (compared to other SPACS) and it's likely due to the confusing mess they made with the warrants throughout the process. Great your doing your DD! I'd suggest you read the latest SEC filings (open and ctrl F then search for warrant) you'll find all the info there. Less risk in the commons though as I said before but less leverage as well. Hoping the merger date will drop AH today or Monday, Tuesday next week. Hydrogen is on fire and will be for the foreseeable future.

Ive had that with a few stocks in the past on Questrade, it's weird that some brokers don't seem to have access to some stocks.

Another reason to maybe give Interactive Brokers a try. There is a higher learning curve, but they give you access to things the other brokers don't.

I'm short Tesla now (via put options) - market is pretty nuts right now - at one point today Tesla was up 8% and my put contracts were up over 10%
But at this rate I'll eventually lose it all - fun money
