Well this no fun, having to hand out your own loser medals.
EDIT: That's harsh - silver medals. Good job guys.

My goodness there are some downers in here. That game was awesome. The Canadian team played really frigging well. Spencer Knight stood on his head. That's Junior hockey!
These kids need to be celebrated. And some of you need a life.
Have a great night!

Thanks for a couple weeks distraction and entertainment. Embrace the silver, guys. You worked hard.

Yea, this was the best Team Canada in years. Although it's always Gold or bust for Canada, it was even moreso this year with the amount of talent they had on their team.
Easily should've been a top 3 WJC Team Canada of All-Time so this is a semi-disappointment and definitely hurts more compared to other years they lost.
But USA did play a great game and Zegras was stupid good. Completely outclassed Cozens and the entire Canadian team today.

The outshooting was score effects. US just let them shoot from the perimeter.

lol okay guy...Canada outshot them 25-8 after the first but it wasn't close apparently
Canada hit a post and the USA got a bounce off the net cam. USA deserved the win but to say it wasn't close is wrong IMO

No, they were never going to be. This roster, even with Dach, had basically no one who has a realistic shot at being an elite scorer. Byfield, Cozens and Newhook are sort of on the border of being in that category, but they really miss Lafreniere and Hayton from last year.

Byram devastated and still doing his duty, without tossing a medal into tarps in the first bowl.
Canada.

It was a 1-0 game with a weird bounce that resulted in an empty net tap in basically.
Of course it was a close game, even if the US played a better team game.

Coaching was a factor, but they were ready to play. They owned the US for the first 5 minutes with the relentless forecheck they had been using all tournament. Then the US made an adjustment and Canada couldn't figure out how to match it.
To me this type of outcome is typical in this tournament and it highlights the difference between these players and seasoned pros. The in-game emotional swings can be crippling to such a young team.
Canada was able to get back under control in the third, but by then the US was able to play a smart and safe shell that kept Canada to the outside.

Team Canada once again missing key players and still bring home silver and never trailed in the tourney until the GMG. I wonder if the result is different if TC has the 3rd overall and 1st overall from the last two NHL drafts..

That was an excellent hockey game and the US is fully deserving of their gold. They played a great team game and while I have no doubt Canada has the talent edge, you wouldn’t really know it from watching just this one game.
I agree with others that the US coach must be awfully good but have to give those players credit too. Very disciplined hockey.
What a great tournament this is.

Calgary beat Colorado in game one and Dallas in game one
one game elimination is TOUGH. USA was better today, doesn't mean they are better and Canada was overhyped

Hate watching a team work so hard and get no bounces.
But I did notice that they weren't getting into open ice and using their teammates much when they started the pushback. A lot of shooting from everywhere and individual plays driving to the net. Still, Knight was lucky to end up between the puck and the goal line on a couple of those chances.
Game was a weird one-off for Canada it felt like. Any other day, they would've sniped a few of those opportunities. Too bad it fell on the most important game.
US always relishes the opportunity to play spoilers.
Would love to go and do the same thing to them on their turf.

Really cool watching Theresa Feaster accept a medal as a coach of a male team.
