Maybe once or twice during camp, but there is no chance that Monahan is dropped to third-line minutes and deployment when tbe season starts.

Which season was this?
Even if you include the AHL, Ritchie hasn't had more than 30 points since 2013-2014. Over the past 3 years, Ritchie has averaged a 14 point pace (over 82 games).
Kirkland is three years younger than Ritchie and produces more in the AHL. Kirkland also puts up more PIMs. Roughly the same size.
And I don't even think Kirkland should play in the NHL this year.

What I'd like to try:
Tkachuk - Monahan - Mangiapane
Gaudreau - Lindholm - Simon
Leivo - Backlund - Ryan
Lucic - Bennett - Dube
It's a balanced offense approach that I feel could go a long way in a compressed season.

I think he meant 2016-17 where he had 16 goals and 24 points (not 34).
His point totals have been 14 (71 games), 6 (53 games) and 6 (27 games) since then.

I am not convinced that we will see set line deployment as much as rolling the lines. Monahan will still get top line PP minutes. I believe the Flames will want to use their depth advantage as much as possible. It will be great to follow to see which direction they go.

The way I see it as well , is that we will be rolling all four lines, with the top three lines getting almost even ice-time. Backlund's line getting the most defensive zone starts.

Some teams got some great deals with this deflated covid cap mgmt crap. We were not one of them ughhh. Would have been nice to not have been up to the cap

I'd argue that we signed some good depth pieces, we otherwise would not have if it wasn't for the covid cap. Simon, Nesterov, Leivo, Nordstorm

I know we all blocked the Canadian shootout loss from our collective memory, but Parsons was the starting goaltender for a gold medal-winning USA team in 2017.

This makes zero sense to me. There how many cities in Canada to have adequate, vacant, arenas to host the Heat. Provide the AHL runs with a Canadian division, why wouldn't they move the team north for this year? This would eliminate the biggest current hurdle for call ups.

It seems like the NHL barely got permission for the main clubs to travel around playing. I think they had to cave on testing everyone every day including families. That would be pretty cost prohibitive for the AHL clubs I reckon.

Ritchie generally produces less than 10 goals per season.

I keep holding out hope that Parsons will reach the potential I believe he has, or had, but man the past few years don't make me feel very confident at all. Too bad, he was such a star in that WJC I thought he was a lock to be at least an NHL backup. Such bad luck with drafted goalies for this franchise in recent memory, let's hope Wolf can break that streak.

I would think that with the taxi squad, there won't be much movement back and forth from the Heat anyway

24 points and since then has been a scratched more than my cats carpet house, the only reason he made a lineup was because he's a big R-shot but he takes stupid and lazy penalties and has zero toolbox.
Brett Ritchie is no good
