It pisses me off how DUI seems to be more generally accepted than many other transgressions.
La Russa put people's lives at risk, show him the f***ing door.

Yeah, it's definitely not an eye roll hire. She put in the time and is credible. There won't be any shock to dealing with the old boys club either as she's been doing it for a very long time. She's well spoken and doesn't seem like she's trying to be one of the guys either which I like. Hopefully she can get that team going.

He will forfeit $24 million in salary. For a guy who is already over the hill and unlikely to ever get a good payday again, you really wonder what was going through his head.

Ego, not wanting to live down the big contract. Whatever, I always found him talented but cocky the way anyone who's worn the Yankees jersey has.

Phil Niekro has passed away. The greatest knuckleballer. 7th HOFer to pass away this year.

definitely feels like a lot of legends passing away, certainly now guys I remember watching. 300 plus wins, he and his brother Joe who passed away 20 years ago are the winningest set of brothers in MLB I believe

Sounds like the Padres will be getting Darvish in a trade too.
Quite the off season for them.

Yup. The Cubs and Padres finalized their trade. The Cubs have thrown in the towel for 2021-22.

They were reporting on MLB Network the fact the Cubs invested so much in the area around the park (hotel, the rooftops, etc) is why they’re looking to shed payroll. They’re looking to move Bryant before the start of the season, too. (which is why Theo bailed)

The Padres have also signed Ha-Seong Kim, they have just realistically became a top 5 team in baseball.
Great to see after them being terrible for so many years.

Love seeing teams go for it. It would be extremely exciting to be a Padres fan right now. Generational talent in Tatis Jr plus a bunch of other really good players in the mix. Baseball needs more of this, it’s embarrassing watching teams like the Red Sox shed payroll and trade away stars for “flexibility”.

Yes, and people wondered why Machado signed there for 10 years. Well we now know why.
