Easily would have taken him on the Flames for that money if that was an option.

Wow. Surprised that he was only able to get the minimum
Habsb have really gone heavy on wingers, this offseason.

I am guessing the Flames and Perry looked at each other and both went "Eeeewwwwwwwwwwww."

He looked better in the playoffs, but he had 5 goals and 21 points last year, and even in the playoffs it's 9 points in 27 games which projects to 27 points in a full season. So he is on his last legs, as it's two straight seasons where he's showing pretty significant decline. This year there's no such thing as a bad depth signing. But shame no any organization that doesn't have a younger player in place who can replace that level of production.
I'm no analytics expert, but at he had 52.5% offensive zone starts and both his fenwick and corsi are in the 47.5% range at even strength. He had 2 minutes of Power play time per game and overall ice time in the 13:43 of ice time per game. So it would seem that he was given decent ice time by the Stars last year and didn't really produce that much.

For me the Flames were far better off signing Josh Leivo than Perry.

They’re going to be nasty to play against. I feel like they’ll match up well with Toronto and maybe split that series.
