Time to put the gun in the holster

So peeps, what's the latest in vasectomy technology?
Anyone had a good experience recently and could make a recommendation?

What are the different ways this can be done, what does it cost, are they reversible, and so forth.

They cut a hole in your ball sack, remove a small length from each vas deferin and sew you up and then you limp around for a few days.

Its free in Canada.

I went for a consultation with Dr. Van Der Merwe in Mission about getting snipped.

I was waiting in the examination room, when the adjacent door slid open. There was my Doctor at his desk with a dachshund in his lap.

Wiener Doctor with a Wiener Dog. For reals.

He ran for the NDP in a bi-election last year.

Anyway, the procedure went great - no complications and I did not need the pain medication. Two small punctures were made, leaving no scars. Was walking two days later. They never called for follow-up and I never had a sample tested later.

[this doctor has since left his practice]

according to my doc i was the 1 in 25,000 or so thousands that had some negative comlications and in retrospect it looked way worse that it felt.
my crotch was back and blue like i was kicked by a mule, then went and played a hockey game and got in front of a chara slapper with no cup. The boys at one poit got a little bigger than mandarin oranges.

About a week later it was all good - except for the bruising which maybe lasted two and a half weeks.

I guess at the end of the day it was easier than the wife going for more invasive surgery and she did have two people growing in her.

Didn’t you have yours done like 15 years ago? I’m not sure your story is relevant anymore since the procedure has changed so much.

Overall mine went well. The first side was fine...like as fine as cutting your sack open and snipping your nuts can be. But the second side was much more painful. I’m trying to be tough about it, but I realized I was sweating a bunch that I wasn’t on the first side. Turns out the freezing just didn’t take or wasn’t adequate for the one side, and he had to put more in.
I’ve had the same thing happen at the dentist. Not a huge deal, but I’m glad it wasn’t the first side that was hurting, I would have just been thinking that’s how it was and trying to survive the pain.

Afterwards I had a little bit of a kicked in the nuts feeling, but not bad at all. Your supposed to stay inactive for a week or so, but I went out and played flag football 2 days later and everything was fine.

I wouldn't recommend "putting the gun in the holster" and I think that you just want to take the bullets out? To each their own though!

If you anticipate getting the snip so you get more home action... unlikely.

I'm going to avoid opening the can of worms by leaving the thread now, but in retrospect, I personally wish I put some more research in to find a place that didn't also offer that service on the menu.

What is the benefit of this? I have to say it's never popped into my head once as something I would consider getting done.
Presumably you guys are a bit older (50s?) Wouldn't your wives be close to being naturally done already? Or have you all got younger models?

		| Menopause is a point in time 12 months after a woman's last period. The years leading up to that point, when women may have changes in their monthly cycles, hot flashes, or other symptoms, are called the menopausal transition, or perimenopause. The menopausal transition most often begins between ages 45 and 55. It usually lasts about 7 years but can last as long as 14 years. | |

The benefit if you are married is no more risk of unintentional pregnancy and your wife doesn't have to take hormone altering pills or keep an irritating IUD in their uterus. Condoms are riskier than these methods of contraception due to user error/failure of the materials.

I'm 40 and my wife is 35, we decided we were done having kids and this is the best way to ensure nothing happens by accident. My brother had a 3rd kid unintentionally, and while he doesn't regret having his third kid, he does regret not getting his vasectomy sooner. To be fair, he doesn't make a ton of money so it puts more strain on his finances. I have a buddy who did it recently and he just turned 36. You'd be surprised how many married men do it once they've had their kids.

You assumed we were all in our 50's (good lord), so I hope this changes your perspective a little. I won't tell you what I assume your age to be.

Depends on your position of using Abortion as birth control, the side affects of birth control, the consistency of the application of birth control, your certainty of being done and your willingness to raise another child.
