I'm of the mind set Ashokas playing chess and moving pieces in the grand scheme. Sending Mando off to sit Grogu on the mountain may lead to another Jedi.... not Windu but Ezra.
Ezra trains the Grogu. Lest we forget, Ashoka is no Jedi.
Ashokas role after Clone wars has always been big picture and making her moves at the right time.
Also, Rosario was rock solid IMO. The headress wasn't that great from make up though. Looked like carved pool noodles lol.
I loved this episode because it brought the Mando story closer to the middle of the story universe. Kind of like "here we are hanging out in this small t.v. pond, but here's a cool reminder of the ocean you're swimming in.
I dont expect ashoka to have any prominence in this show, just a few team ups over the course of the series I think.
But ill love them none the less.

Lol not sure how one yells through text.
We were given so much good here, and even some that we didn't ask for or arguably deserve, that it feels like making your initial discussion points to focus on how cosplay-y a character looked is a bit ridiculous.
Even if you're an avid fan, which I know you are, at least give the kudos where they are due before you go in that direction. After the last five years of constant bitching from all corners of the interwebs, with the stark contrast in the quality of content we've finally been given here, to start off on that foot kind of GMG. That is all. Carry on, good sir.
Some believe that we may have seen some of the best bits of Star Wars in 15 years (I guess if you're a big fan of ROTS). I don't know what to compare this to and how but this season specifically has been all kinds of great, even with the heavy nostalgia tie-ins. I went full child at the intro.. that was so cool and cleverly shot.

I must have missed it too, the only thing was when she basically said there were very few Jedi left, I thought that more echo'd her confrontation with Vader.
I think that she's strictly focused on finding clues to Ezra, she's not seeing herself as a Jedi, so I doubt she has much interest in reaching out to Luke.

I apologize if this was brought up already but when Grogu reaches out on the mountain, who are the remaining Jedi at this time? There is young Luke, possibly a trained Leia, Ezra, Samuel Jackson? an old Cal Kestis (from the video game), a bunch of force ghosts (yoda would be interesting appearance), any others? I assume Luke hadn't started his training thing yet and Kylo must have been pretty young at this point.

What I love about Filoni’s work on Star Wars is he understands what it is about Star Wars that made it so god in the first place, and that’s interesting characters. He also understands character development. It really highlights how bad the new trilogy was at character development.
He also recognizes the great story telling of the legends work. Thrawn was one of my favourite characters reading Timothy Zahn’s books as a kid. Though the canon story of him is garbage.
Ahsoka is one of the best characters in the Star Wars universe. Her appearance made me happy and want more story telling for her.
I could also go for a series that is along the lines of the Rogue Squadron series.

I still have my doubts and hope that Mace isn't alive at all. The less Jedi that survived order 66 the better. I hated in the legends EU that they used found Jedi as nuclear warheads and there were so many out there that you couldn't swing a light saber without hitting one.
I would like it to be literally Luke, a quarter trained Leia, Ezra and maybe Cal, though my feeling is that if he kept sticking his damn fool head up it would eventually get cut off.
Or, have a well know Jedi show up, Mando turns the bady over, and flies away with tears in his eyes knowing he did the right thing, and the Jedi lasts about 10 minutes as the Empire Super droids turn up, turning the Jedi into bloody rags and taking Grogu.

Kylo would be 4 years old so that ain't happening. That's kind of the issue, there are only so many options and most are bad. Leia was never really a Jedi, since she quit her training partway through. Bringing Samuel L Jackson back would be pretty stupid. Ezra is a possibility but he's also not a Jedi, is he?
So that's probably why people are thinking Luke; he and Ahsoka are literally the only legitimately trained Jedi at this point.

Ezra was pretty much a Jedi, there was no ceremony or Jedi Trials at that point, but he was trained, and fairly powerful.
Right now, yeah, to me, Luke, Ashoka who's extremely powerful and Leia who would be relatively untrained.

I just keep thinking Ezra Bridger because of what Ashoka said about Grogu's fear. If anyone could train someone over that Hurdle it would be Ezra (depending on how his return is dealt with). We watched all throughout rebels his toying with light and dark and being swayed.
Either way, I think its Ezra Ashoka is hoping to guide home using Grogu on the mountain.
Also, I was a major fan of how they had Rosario fight with the twin white sabers. More Anakin than patowaan ashoka. They also preluded her more powerful form in the final fight sequence when she went her traditional reverse grip when she went down to one Saber. I think it was incredibly savvy to show that she wasn't using her most powerful form in the episode until she was down a saber.
I have a feeling she's going to show up in the season finale when Mando faces Gideon. Likely at the mountain.

I think that the Cliff Hanger is that we don't get the Mando facing Gideon at the end of the year.
But we do see the power of his remnant.

Leia might already have retired from Jedi life at this point. During her final training session in TRoS, they don’t really look older than in RoTJ.
It’s hard keeping all the timelines straight. Grogu is 50 and the Jedi temple would have been sacked about 35 years earlier, so I was surprised when Ashoka said that he had spent years under many masters being trained. I’m imagining him in that terrible kindergarten class where all the kids are waving mini lightsabers around while blinded by blast helmets.

Yeah, he was in the advanced class, and became the Jedi's greatest bully, giving wedgies from across the room, stealing meals and candy from the other children, and eating the Temples Lothcat mascot.
He was a real jerk that Grogu. There was one prank, he still laughs about it today where he played I got your nose with one of the younger Jedi, and ripped his face off with the force.

Is Quinlan Vos still kicking? Fans would love to see him come for Grogu.

He's still alive at least a few years into the Empire. They mentioned that they were still looking for him in the Vader comics.
But he'd be 91 by the time of Episode IX.
The Grand Inquisitor also stated that Oppo Rancisis was still alive. But he was already very old in Episode I.

I wanted to say that but I have also misspelled Anakin, for several pages.
Now on a more serious note, how do we know Ahsoka is dead at the end of RoS?sure we heard her voice but that was force wizardry/fan service.

Am I the only one who gets unreasonably annoyed when Mando puts up the antique spyglass to his helmet?
Like come on man!

It only looks old timey, plus is a nice change from the typical range finder mounted on the side like so many other Mandolorian helmets.

All of the Jedi that spoke are dead. Whether it was an easter egg or not just to be cool, I'm playing the assumption that she was gone.
