Tough to guess what else they could "reverse" with the Blasty.

It likely has the chevron striping still, so either the white for red swap above, or the opposite here:


But I'm not sure either work that well.

I still think the best option would have been the 2004 home jersey with Blasty as the main logo and the Flaming C on the shoulders. Or just do Blasty in it's original glory, but that wouldn't be "reverse".

Its probably going to be wordmark Calgary with the horse instead of the flaming C.

I wonder if that preview is just hiding a thin black outline, similar to the Flaming C on the shoulders, but that would be the white faced horse above basically.

I think the normal blasty logo with the second mostly-white striping configuration actually looks kinda cool. I dig it.

I think for the black horse you have to make all the facial feature colors black (i.e. the yellow under the eyes has to be black, as well as the teeth and the pupils). Also the snot has to be red on the inside, then yellow, then a white outer boundary that goes around the whole logo. I think it also looks better with yellow restricted to just the snot - not underlining the white outer boundary the whole way around.

I tried a quick and dirty version of that in photoshop and it looked ok. The real trick seemed to be avoiding too much yellow other than in the flames.

One good thing about the logo is there's lots of ways to tinker with it. They're just often annoying to do in photoshop!

Here's the preview that shows a small piece of the main logo's tip in the corner, and then that part blown up:


While it seems to be yellow then white, it might just be a thin outer stripe of yellow around the normal Blasty logo? It'd start to look really busy though.

I think the apparent strip of yellow is caused by the lighting and the blurriness.

It would be alright if they left the horsehead yellow like some people are thinking. But kind of hoping they switch it up and make it different. It would be pretty lame if there reverse retro just switched the shoulder patches.

Super excited to see full jersey though!

I’m also a huge fan of blasty but I started to get into watching hockey around 2002-2004 so love the 2004 red style jerseys and blasty of course. But I love all of Calgary’s jerseys and own them all. I was to young during the young guns era but I love the pedestal jerseys because they scream 90s.

It's black, has no provincial flags, and no piping. For the first time in a decade it seems common sense prevailed in the department handling the uniform styling. They are going to sell a lot of these jerseys.

I think that is a huge reach. Can’t see that being an issue at all... that said, this won’t be the logo.
