I feel bad for the championship next week, because Graham scott is going to be reffing a match there and not in the premier league

He refused to call a foul on solly March that ended up leading to brightens goal, then refused again when the var official made him go look at the monitor, the only reason I can see is out of embarrassment because he can see himself in the replay staring at the incident from about 4 feet away

If United have 2 poor results in the next week before the break, poch is in no?

I wouldn't fire him, I'd let him drop pogba to the reserves until january, but I dont see woodward being strong enough to allow that

He was indeed awful. Missed that foul, but also got the Lallana on Kane placement wrong leading to the first PK goal.

I think it's gotta be OGS last stand. Send him to the reserves.
He's had the sack, over the past couple weeks in not starting him.

That is just unbelievable. I have no idea what the justification could be there, it was as clear a foul as you’ll see. I know they were slowing it down to see whether the ball was spinning differently or whatever, but that’s a moot point. He went through the back and that’s a foul every time, whether he got the ball or not. (He didn’t...which makes it even more perplexing).

That was a penultimately 'English' game.

"Yeah, we got all the calls wrong, but there was a fair result."

Spurs werent great. Albion pushed them hard for large stretches of the match.

I would still say that on the balance Spurs winning was a fair result.

In what Universe that was a Penalty for Kane?

In what Universe that wasnt a foul in the buildup to Albion's goal I cant even imagine.

If it was 1-0 match with a Bale winner in the dying minutes we'd all be moving along with our day. Not a strong showing by Spurs, but a result.

Part of me wants to say that they'd better have the VAR guys unscrew their heads from their asses...but I'm a cynic so I acknowledge that this season is going to be one long crapshoot.

I guess I mostly agree. I thought the Kane PK was questionable. It was a foul, but I don’t know that he was in the box.

Like you say, I do think the result wasn’t that bad when it was all said and done, but Brighton did play well for a large piece of the game. Lamptey looks like a good young player. It doesn’t reflect well on VAR when you have 1/3 goals that are actually legitimate though.

I think they need to mix these refs up. They should have to explain what they’re seeing and why they’re making a particular call or not because these are impactful decisions we’re talking about.

Anyone catch the Everton Newcastle match ? Pickford was dropped for Olsen, whom had a great game, despite the loss.

Offhand, I think of the burden England #1; but not so sure. (Robinson, Hart)

Sadly I did - two horrible teams to watch (particularly with Richarlison out) - it was like watching two negative magnet poles being forced together. The only player worth watching on either team was Almiron.

I didn't watch, but I think that James was out injured.

James didn't play, and CL is really not that interesting without the support players. He is a target man, and if there isn't anyone that can make a pass...

it's more like a general "if we were to make a change, would you be interested?" thing. Winning the Everton game will not save Oles job long-term, it might just delay the inevitable.

Poch replacing Ole feels a bit like Mourinho replacing van Gaal ... everybody knew it was coming a long time before it did. The key difference is that I'm pretty pumped about potentially getting Poch.

Aw man....I never thought you'd make me feel bad about this.

I dont OGS is doing a terrible job. Hes made some questionable decisions, and I think playing for him isnt terribly motivating, but they're not a great squad either.

They're not terrible, I'm not suggesting that, but they're not great.

Besides, he has to play most games with only 10 men when he selects Pogba and its like adding a player to the other team.

Its kind of like when Liverpool was forced to play Dejan Lovren. Hes basically not there and is always good for a goal against. Its like starting the match with 10 men and down 1-0.

Okay, I understand that a word was omitted there. I meant to say that I dont think OGS is doing a terrible job.

I just have a hard time believing that these conversations take place that way. I mean yeah, everyone knows that Ole is on his last legs, and it's pretty clear that the writing is on the wall. At the same time though, once they're actually contacting people to take over it's a done deal or very close.

Wasn't he the best player in the world? I was sure that I heard that somewhere!

OGS is doing a terrible job. That club spends ~100m a year on players, has some good young talent and they're sitting on 2 wins against Brighton and Newcastle. I guess you can look at the draw against Chelsea as a silver lining, but they're just not playing up to their potential. At some point that falls to the manager.

I think that was from a Press Release from either himself...his mother, or someone he had locked in chains who had succumbed to Stockholm Syndrome.
