Default If you play computer/PS2 games (especially flight sims) read this!

I just went to X/S Cargo (the discount store) and bought a brand new Logitech Flight Force joystick for $4.99. They normally only have junk at that store! The joystick has force feedback! It says on the box that it only works with PS2, but it uses USB. I plugged it in to my computer and it works great in Flight Simulator 2004. It needeed to be calibrated, but it works perfectly and is built solid. Plus, force feedback is kinda nifty. What a bargain!

The catch is that there is only a few Playstation 2 games it is compatible with. But it is amzing on a PC.

It costs $50 US on Amazon.

Normally, I'm not a big fan of Logitech, but is was only $5!

These were $7.99 previously.

I have two. Damn, they cut the price to 50%??? ARRGh I spent like $20 for two.

It's too bad there are no new flight/space sims out there. If you guys know of any good ones, please let me know. My joysticks are collecting dust.

Their's a game called Darkstar One i've heard is pretty good. My computer isn't good enough to run it. It's a space sim as far as i remember, but maybe one of those mouse ones like freelancer.

Darkstar One is very good thus far. I am enjoying it. It is a mouse game similar to Freelancer. I am not sure of joystick support or lack thereof.

What about Descent?

I suppose I could use one when flying in BF2

This has been on RFD for a few weeks now. I grabbed one way back when and they had lots. Went back last week and they had less than 10 left from what I can see. Very good deal. Should work well also with racing games too if you don't have a FF steering wheel.

I couldn't imagine playing a racing game with a joystick.

But anyway, Darkstar isn't bad, but the graphics pale in comparison to X3 which has really spoiled me.

freelancer was a fun couple of days for the story but i wouldnn't dare call it a flight sim, more like a space adventure game where your ship is the character.

no dogfighting, just straight line, head-on shooting at each other, best guns / shields wins. yawn.
