Well, did anyone else catch it?
Man oh man, I thought for sure Charlie had actually bite the bullet, they played that off pretty damn well. Interesting that they had another flashback with Jack. The whole metal thing in the ground was pretty damn cool, to bad we won't know about it until after Christmas I bet. Can anyone guess what it was? Underground cave type thing is my guess... it seemed hollow when they were tapping on it.

This is definately a show where characters, even somewhat main ones may in fact actually die so i was convinced the hobbit was dead.
Overall, another awesome eppy. The metal thing has my curiosity peaked. The Sawyer character is growing way more interesting. Lots of stuff going on.
Man. This show rocks.

Slow start but a great ending yet again.
Metal ground might be some sort of air duct? Could be anything really.
Definitley thought Charlie was a goner, I honestly was a little dissapointed that they brought him back to life. They would have had to have some huge balls to kill him off, and I thought it would have been a great move to let the audience know that its not going to be easily predictable.

I was disappointed too. I was kinda happy in a weird way to see them kill of a very major part of the show, and one of the biggest "name" actors as well. But in the end I am glad he - the character - didn't die. Him Saaed (sp?) have become two of my favs so I am happy he didn't take the big dirt nap... although it was pretty shocking to see him hanging up like that being found by Jake and Kate.. had some shock value to it.

Exactly. Character-wise I would have missed him, he adds alot to the show. But when Jack was bringing him back to life I was thinking "Of course, the doctor will save the day and it will be a happy ending" and I didn't want to be right.
So far I have liked how this show has thrown curve ball after curve ball, this was one of the only things I could see coming. So far Charlie had been one of the most major characters, to kill him off first season it would prove that this show means business.

Agree with those above: I was sure Charlie was a goner, and while he's one of my favorites it would have made for great suspense going forward knowing the show wasn't afraid to off main characters.

I might have to check this baby out. Any show that gets its own thread on CPuck for each episode must have something going for it. They advertise so much for it during MNF I always thought it was hurting for viewers and needed some exposure to the male action-loving crowd.

Apparently next wednesday they are showing the first two episodes back to back again. So that should be a great chance for new viewers like yourself to check it out.
Highly recommend this show!

Fantastic show. Good thing that it's not on anymore until after Christmas, since I'll be away.
I agree though that maybe it would have been best to kill off Charlie, although part of me would have been pretty sad considering he's one of the main characters. When I say main character, that's what I love about this show. The writers and creators did a great job in showing the background on the characters, and it really adds depth and connection to the characters. An example is Claire, who I thought was just going to be eye-candy for the show, but the episode showing her background changed that perception. And there's still more characters that haven't been talked about.
I cant wait to see the next episode though.

Yeah, I am not normally a fan of Drama on TV. I like sports, comedy, and reality. But this show hooked me after the first 15 minutes. Anyone wary about starting to watch it should definitely try to check it out next wednesday when it starts over.

Holy CRAP! What a show.........
I thought about it for a second and then just fully thought they'd killed him off. But I guess it makes sense that his character survives. STRICTLY for his one line in the whole show....."All They Wanted Was Claire".....ahhh Sawyer's whole theory could turn out true (a whole tribe of em).
Big metal thing....god who knows, I keep thinking Locke is somehow bad, can't seem to get over that fact. I don't think we'll even know till 2005 really.....
What a great episode though.

I don't think Locke is "bad" per say. In fact, I'm not sure if this show will have a traditional "good vs. evil" component to it - just people with different priorities and motivations.
Locke is motivated to stay on the island since it gave him the ability to walk and frankly he seems to having a pretty darn good time on it. Thus, he may do some questionable things to ensure they stay there. But I don't think he's evil. Either way...dude is cool.

Hang the Hobbit! Wow he never even got as rough of a treatment in the trilogy.
My theory is that i dont' think anyone can die on this island. Locke said they should have all died in the plane crash. they get resurrected and come back evil. They still haven't explained how Locke survived that creature/dinosaur thingie.
This show is awesome and Alias is going to be on right before it in January! JJ Abrams rocks!

Amazing show......
Its one of the few things i watch on TV and manage to make time for or tape if i can't watch it. I have to say of everything the show does well i like the revealing the characters and their history a little at a time, some wierd stuff and they haven't introduced a lot of the people fully yet.....why must it go away for so long?

Ya it was a great episode again. My wife was watching Ellen and she had on one of the cast members (can't remember which one) and Ellen was grilling her for info because she is a huge fan of the show as well, and apparently all they would give her was "one of the main characters is going to die". So last night I thought for sure he was a goner.
I like the suspense and the curve balls and stuff, but is anyone else getting to the point where they need some concrete answers? I know I am. The suspense and cliff hanger stuff is walking a thin line and is close to me getting frustrated and not watching due to lack of answers. Just my 2 cents.
