If they enter the season right to the cap they will be in potential bonus overage trouble again. Probably don't want to bring up broberg or Bouchard because of that.

Rinse repeat with that organization from Tambellini, McTavish, Chiarelli now Holland. Something tells me someone else is calling the shots still.....

Does Smith have incriminating photos of Barrie and that's the reason he signed for $2 million less?

I'm not sure Smith would get anything more than $700,000. And that's after a PTO and every goaltender in an organization's system injured.

Smith is little more than an One-Day Emergency Goalie/PT Zamboni Driver at this point of his career.

Or use the LTIR they have.

I guess their entire game plan is that as long as they have the puck, everything will be alright.

Best gif from an Oilers' fan on HF Boards so far:

Lol, me and my 11 year old just had a laugh about this pick-up by the Oilers. Does it even have to be discussed....

Is markstrom any good at fighting? Maybe he could beat down Smith in the next BoA.

What was the rush anyway? Did they think someone else was closing in on Smith?

So puzzling

Mike Smith would break a hip trying to get to Centre Ice.

Maybe they could get him one of those walkers with the Tennis Balls on it?
