He has set the table up in the media to make his tinkering a long term endeavor. I dont expect any immediate fireworks tomorrow. I say this as I just randomly posted a dreadful (to me) hunch.

Flames wise, I dont expect much. Some work around the edges again.

They need to be pretty proactive on the goalie front though, I think those will get snapped up fast.

I want to be optimistic.

I think chances are pretty solid they get Markstrom. I think there is a chance to get Hall but no where near as much of a chance as I thought before the shutdown.

Yeah, I think Tree has a trade queued up ready to fire on if he can land Taylor Hall.

...but I'm preparing for some pretty lacklustre stuff tomorrow. The whole reality of being a Flames fan has me believing Hall will sign a one year deal elsewhere, Brodie will take a big pay day somewhere else, Barrie will take a 1 year deal elsewhere, and Markstrom will take fat stacks of cash from Carolina.

I have a feeling MAF will end up a Flame.

I firmly believe we are all going to be happy about tomorrow. Or not happy but in the long run better off (The opposite of James Neal)

But one of the big 3 will be ours.

I’m looking at it glass half full; going into the draft we were nervous we would even keep our 1st, then we were nervous we traded it down, then we were nervous we traded it down again and then it all worked out. Of course Tree has always had his bigger successes occur at the draft more so than free agency but I think he comes out a winner tomorrow.

Damn it, I want Hall and Markstrom.
I have had a fantasy the last couple days of Hall signing in Calgary for a bargain. Like 4 million or LESS for 7 years or something. The Flames fan, hometown discount, allowing us to bolster the team further with more adds than would be possible, and a better chance at winning for the somewhat foreseeable future which he too wants.

I would honestly be happy if it ends up being Jankowski/Reider/Rinaldo out, and Namestnikov/Wallmark/(our own)Phillips in. That would immediately change the dynamic of the team and all three would come in under 7M for the lot.

If we don't hit a home run, I'm ok with a couple of doubles, I just don't want an old guy who 'still has something in the tank'.
