Crawford was apparently offered a one year contract @ $3.5M, he is looking for a longer term. I expect he wants to be in a place where he's the # 1.
Time will tell if he can get either of those things from someone else.
I think he's not a bad choice as a 1A, 1B situation, but his concussions are a concern if the signing teams needs to rely upon him for a full year as a #1.
To me, he'd be a good guy to get for a playoff run in the last year of his contract as a back up in case you need to have someone who could win you a playoff series or two.
He played well down the stretch and in the playoffs this year.
But a big gamble to sign him for more than 1 year and to count on him to be healthy all season.
The Hawks have no one else. Fleury might end up there, if Vegas gives them enough to take that contract.
TBH, Chicago looked like the best fit for Chicago. I'm expecting he got his ego bruised.
