Not really with players who are past the UFA cutoff age in terms of getting back to their peak.
Todd Bertuzzi got bought out after a 40 point season in Anaheim, than signed with the  Flames and had 44 the next season and a few others in the 38-48 range in Detroit after that.  Owen Nolan also had a decent year for the Flames after being bought out.  Nothing like previous seasons, but he stuck around for a few years after.
Players who get bought out, usually were not bad players, they were just overpaid.  There are a few who brought pretty good value to their next team on shorter less expensive deals.
