Maatta is a perfect example of how a young defenseman, given sheltered minutes, can look great in those sheltered situations.
But learning how to play in the top 4 (i.e. not sheltered minutes) is an acquired skill that takes time.

Makes sense for their position. Opens the door for Gustaffson back to Chicago as rumored

That is a bizarre amount, I was going to complain they should at least state the percentage as well because with weird dollar figures it can make more sense. But, in this case 18.37% does not make any sense either.

I mean injuries probably have more to do with it than anything. Maatta has missed a lot of time, especially in the first four years of his career.
