				 Scorch vs Blasty

Both have somewhat controversial histories: Blasty was largely hated from the beginning but has since developed a cult-like following. Scorch was popular from the beginning but never got a chance to fully shine.
It’s 2020. One can return, but only one .

Declare your allegiance and state your case: Who should come back... Scorch or Blasty?

Edit: thanks for the poll... let the carnage begin!

Both, I think a fitting return for Scorch would be to burn all remaining Blasty Jersey, then put the fire out by pissing on it.

Scorch is a great mascot, Blasty is a great logo on a great jersey.

Ol' Blasty for me. Scorch is fun but Blasty is something that never should have left.

I voted Scorch but I’d love to see him riding Blasty.

This is a tough one. On one hand I would love a Blasty return, on the other hand I’d love to see Scorch around the new arena during games.
I think I’m gonna go with Blasty but it’s close.

Besides, Scorch is an AHL legend. A rung lower on the food chain than Blasty.
Although I did love the mascot video game thing they did where Scorch was an unlockable.

Blasty was bad then, but looks even more dated now. If they are going to use that concept, it could use a make over.
 Scorch is at least funny.

Early polls showing Scorch with an approx 2:1 advantage over Blasty. Not sure if that is more indicative of the Sunday morning demographic, but I guess we will see.
Some interesting arguments as well — I hadn’t considered the fact that Scorch would essentially be an NHL rookie (having only been unveiled at AHL Adirondack).

For me I give the edge to Scorch, partly because we appear to be going full-time retro next year so we’re good in the uniform department. To me, Blasty is also a step back into our history, whereas Scorch is a step forward to new possibilities.

The only thing I struggle with is how Scorch would coincide with Harvey. I obviously have a soft spot for the ol’ Hound, and bringing in someone like Scorch would create an interesting dynamic (although I have no doubt Harvey would handle it like a pro).

Logo aside, I do like the look of the black jerseys. Too bad it messes with the C of Red though.

That it does, but I would not be at all surprised to see it make a return. I have a suspicion that the marketing team has realized just how popular the Blasty jerseys are, and not just in Calgary. They have league-wide appeal, similar to the Coyotes' Kachina jerseys. They would sell a lot of them.
