You're right, I missed Karlsson. But Tuch was acquired in a trade. As was Smith, as was Theodore... had GMs just let those draft rules play out instead of bending over backwards to give them players, the Knights wouldn't be as good as they are.

Lol, so other teams haven’t given the league money over decades of being in the league? Only the NHL would make all their teams give up a player and exclude the team with the most depth

I like that Vegas have been a good team right from the start. They're exciting to watch. Way better than having to watch games against a boring bottom feeder with no fans several times a year.

I don't care that they are a decent team...its ridiculous a top team doesn't have to give a player to Seattle when the team in dead last does
Anyway they are hammering the Canucks so that's good

Jets gave them the 15th pick in the 2017 draft so they would not take Tobias Enstrom..they took Brannstrom and subsequently traded him for Mark Stone.

There is an element of great scouting but the NHL handed them a great team with favorable expansion draft rules. They could select either a second line forward or a second pairing defenseman from any team in the league, whereas for previous expansion drafts (1999/2000) teams had a much more expansive protected list. Can you imagine the quality of players who they would have been able to select from some of the teams in the 1999/2000 seasons.

It sucks to say, but that Vancouver team's GAF level was way, way higher than ours ever was.

Flames gave a good Dallas team a good run but blew it, wasn't lack of effort...heck they look at least as good as the Avs Vs. Dallas

Every team has to deal with it and i think its a great way to determine depth quality which is a way to determine the better teams.
I think its great and wish they would bring them back for good.

I was blown away that Markstrom has faced the most shots of any goalie this playoffs considering Vasilevsky played 6 OTs in one. That's a ton of shots that the Canucks system is giving up every game.

I'll be done cheering for them after this round...honestly not sure what to expect...they played Chicago a 12 seed and then Vancouver who was a bubble team who gives up a ton but has great goal tending.
Dallas or the Avs will give them a run...not even sure how to gauge the eastern teams
