That Lindholm news is absolutely horrible. Wish them both the best in such tough times.

Treliving confirmed earlier this week he was out with a concussion. Makes sense in that he was out at least a couple of weeks.

However I don't buy the statement there was no one out there that was willing to make a trade. Kadri thing happened on July 1st or something like that.
Seems to excel at signing his RFAs, drafting has improved
UFAs and trades are lacking.

All you have to do is look at the other players who were traded last summer to get an idea of what the trade market was.
Here's every trade that went down from May 1 - October 1 last year: https://www.capfriendly.com/trades?d...12019-10012019
There isn't a single trade that happened after the Kadri deal where I look at the players and wish the Flames had been able to get one of them.
The worst thing a GM can do is make a panic trade after another trade fell through just for the sake of making a trade.
That's how you end up trading a 1st and a 2nd round draft pick for Griffin Reinhart. Chiarelli was so focused on getting Hamilton from Boston either through a trade or an offer sheet that when Calgary got him, Chiarelli lost his mind and gave up nearly the same return for a guy who had played 8 NHL games at that point.

Beauty example.
You cannot fault a GM for not making a trade when no trade can be made, and you can't fault him when he makes a much needed trade but the player he's trying to acquire invokes a NTC to stop it.
And you certainly don't want a GM forcing a trade out of desperation.

Can't even begin to imagine how hard it would have been for Lindholm to stay in the bubble with all that going on.

Imagine the vitriolic responses from fans if he packed up and left.

I don't know where you got that idea.

If Tkachuk is the glue on this team, then how much did his loss affect them beyond just the hole he created in the lineup? It does kind of feel like this is a factor in the playoff exit that does not get discussed nearly enough.

He didn't play in 4 of the games.
He also said its not about individuals.

Pretty simple. You win as a team, and you lose as a team. Accountability is on everyone. Cheering for Edmonton you should know a single player can't carry an entire team.

Well the fact that none of the front line players were standouts is a problem.
So even though he is defending his team-mates - that is also telling.
You don't win cups if your best players aren't their best.

I listened to the Chucky interview and the main point that stood out to me was when they asked what you take away from this, do you feel like there's positive steps you guys made?
He basically said F that, I wanted to win, it's not enough to make steps.
Was so refreshing to hear someone not say "we made progress", "feels like we're getting closer"
I think he's the only person in the organization I've heard that from in years and not a generic "we'll take the positives and build on them" lines

It definitely did.
He is by far the most vocal and excitable player on the bench. No one is happier for their peers than he is when one of them scores or or gets a win in net.
He is the leader on the team at this point.

Brutal to hear about Lindholm's situation. That's a difficult situation for anyone, trying to navigate it while being in the bubble is unimaginable.

You should read AC's post with the full transcript. If you did, and your education you received in Edmonton doesn't suffice (sorry - I actually like you as a poster, but even I need to get a hit in now and then!), let me summarize it:
Tkachuk isn't happy with what is being said about Gaudreau and Monahan specifically. He then stated that the skilled players need to produce. He is agreeing that they all need to produce more, and that talk about them not producing is fair. It is all these 'hit pieces' coming after Gaudreau and Monahan as 'guys you can't win with', or 'don't care enough', etc.
He absolutely thinks that they - and the rest of the top 6 - needed to contribute more in the series, but they are not deserving of the crap that is being said about them.
