Liked the push to tie. That wouldn’t have happened since 2015. Liked Lucic hard checking Dickenson, after his foolary on Monahan. That also has not happened in a while.

In many ways I can see this going like last series. This was the hardest punch they could throw. On the other hand I am a Flames fan.

Back to lets see how they react tomorrow.

Chin up. Its just 1-1.
Just lost a championship ball hockey game this evening too (by one, after I missed a penalty shot).

Been a bit of a tough night. Please forgive the negativity.

Sorry peeps

Time for BSD tomorrow.

At 5v5, Dallas had an xGF of 1.49 but scored 4 goals.

Won't blame him on the 1st or last, but both Heiskanen goals were suspect. The 3rd goal was beyond brutal

What a bunch of pathetic fans we are. Dogging on some of our top players because of one loss. We won a series and are 1-1 against a team that’s almost a dead even match-up. Talk about fragility, look in the mirror. Go cheer for Edmonton wusses.

It's one thing when a player is trying their arse off but sucking, it happens. There is zero excuse for how Gaudreau plays, what a buttercup softy cream puff wimp he turned out to be. So disappointed.

Flames biggest issue is that tkachuk, Johnny and Gio are no shows in the playoffs for two years in a row. Tkachuk to a lesser extent than the other two but still, no one can say he deserves more ice or opportunity than lucic or bennett at this point of the playoffs... and that is a problem. Our best players aren’t our best players when it counts.

I’ve seen teams that go on deep playoff runs, and this ain’t it

I mean, the statistics show and prove for a fact that the Flames have won despite the top line and top D-pair.

Might win another round but this team isn't going anywhere when their top players are total detriments to the team

Thoughts:

- Flames played a bad game and they only lost by 1 with Dallas bringing their all. That's an encouraging thought.

- Tkachuk is so very important to the success of Backlund and Mangiapane. Dallas neutralized him with physical play (I really hope he's okay), and both Mang and Backs wilted.

- Sam Bennett is one of our best forwards, and he's very good. This kid needs to stay at centre, and the Flames need to give him proper linemates in the regular season. Stop shifting him around.

- Cam Talbot was the 2nd best goalie tonight and Ben Bishop was complete !@#$ on skates. I'd like to see Rittich in the game tomorrow. I like him more as a goalie and as a Flame.

- Giordano's struggles are concerning because his work ethic is still very visibly there. The hustle is there. It's the brain that seems to be failing him, and that's where you get concerned.

- Ward made good use of the timeout. I did not like how he changed lines in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Do not break up the 1 line that is working. Put the two lines that aren't working in a blender.

- It's hard not to be completely exhausted of Johnny Gaudreau at this stage. He's an elite talent, but the combo of him and Monahan are an absolute playoff disaster.

- This team needs MORE Sam Bennett. Cultivate this player. Put your trust in him. He's one of the guys to carry this team forward.

Pretty evenly matched so far. Would've taken Mangi's goal over the 4 min pp, but if Flames converted on that it would be OT right now.

Gaudreau - who is actually fresh - doesn't even come close to doing the one job he has in this situation as he loses his man. The coverage is so bad that the Flames make a defensive defenceman look like he has the offensive instincts of Bobby Orr jumping into the attack.

Just a total, all-around cluster.

Good take. Bennett was the main problem in the end of the third period...

I agree I am ready to move on from him but will not advocate for this until after the season is over.

Until then I am desperately hoping he can find some playoff magic.

I don't like it. I really just think you need to split Gaudreau and Monahan at this point. I think we should do something like

Mangiapane - Backlund - Lindholm
Dube - Monahan - Ryan
Gaudreau - Bennett - Lucic
Jankowski - Reider - Czarnik

I honestly don't know how you could think I am trolling.

MT is the Flames highest paid player. He has 5 pts in 14 career playoff games....

If you don't think that is a giant part of the problem I don't know what to tell you.

There it is. Someone said it.

It's no coincidence the Flames' last true playoff series win was when Gio was not on the ice.

Gio is good and all, but when it comes to the playoffs, for some reason, he suddenly morphs into Tracy McGrady. #secondroundwho

For people wanting to trade Giordano. Goodluck because I don't think he has any value with that much term left on his contract.
