Dallas is a lot better than the Jets at cycling along the boards. Not surprised given all their big veteran forwards.
The good thing is they're also a very perimeter team. The Flames again generally kept things to the outside, and the two against were knucklers from low danger areas.

Since the restart? I thought Lindholm was great against the Jets. The Fan960 guys named him as one of the best players for the Flames against Winnipeg as well.
He does most of the heavy lifting when that line doesn't have the puck. He made a couple great plays late to steal possession and to make sure the Flames got the puck in deep. I think Lindy is the perfect forward as he can play at any situation and you can rely on him when we need to hold a lead, or when we need to tie the game.
I should have added I think he's our best forward - he's the only one on that line that brings it in the big games, it seems. Doesn't surprise me that he's getting accolades for his defensive play.

Their gonna need both for sure but it is encouraging they’ve won four of five games without great play from either
And the long term implications are interesting
Perhaps we are seeing, in real time, this teams best players shift
I think so as well. If Andersson isn't our best overall defenseman, he will be soon.
Johnny I feel is still learning how to play a complete 200ft game and has potential to bounce back once he figures it all out. But it may not be with the Flames.

Massive W, that First was one of the best periods this team has played all season, and to not fold with the Stars getting lucky was a weird change for this franchise.
After the Lucic/Neal trade, and the uncertainty of what just happened I remember thinking “well at the very least, it should make us play a little bigger in the playoffs”.
Then after that weird season, with the Peters incident, the Oilers sideshow, the pandemic shutdown, and Lucic’s pretty average play I kind of forgot what I was excited about to begin with.
This trade was a clear and decisive win. Draft pick aside. The player is far superior.

Love the physicality of the Flames. Should pay off in the series. Beautiful individual efforts by Dube / Anderson. 2nd and 4th line were fine, too. Top line getting outplayed by the Dallas 4th line is concerning. They did not establish any offensive zone time.
Thought Brodie had a bad game too. Missed a lot of passes, one that led to icing that led to a goal. Rasmus and Forbort have looked like our best two defensemen.

I laughed out loud when they showed Neal smiling and joking it up with somebody while Edmonton was losing in their elimination game against Chicago.
Neal was having a grand ol' time despite the do-or-die scenario for his team. PATHETIC.

Lucic may be the PO performer we were hoping for in Brouwer and Neal.
