I voted Hartley because I think he did more with less, but King's record is better than I remember it being.
I'm starting to think Doug Risebrough was our Kevin Lowe. Crappy coach who took a 100 pt team to missing the playoffs, then promoted to GM. Ugh!
I'm starting to think about what could have been had he never been hired as coach.

“You don’t want to get called out, go work in a factory,” Hartley deadpanned during Thursday’s meeting with the media. “One day, I think I broke 15 windshields and nobody booed me. But the next day, I packed about 2,000 without and scratch and nobody cheered me. You decide where you want to be.”

We had a hard time to keep them sitting down. It looked like a bunch of Timbits out there.”

One of my favourites. "I don't want to be the porcupine at the balloon party."

I go Keenan here. I thought his teams were strong, and we ran into injury troubles one year. We were so close to getting past the Sharks in Game 7, and an OT goal from getting to a game 7 against the Wings.

That Sharks series was pretty close. But that Red Wings series should have been a sweep, and Kipper was the only reason it wasn't.
He did have bad luck in terms of injuries to the team in his final season here, but I don't think he did a particularly great job of coaching that season and for a lot of his last two seasons here there was a lot of talk about "inmates running the asylum".
also has a Stanley cup in his resume and a near lifetime of service to the Flaming C
at this point I have no clue what the right answer is but that is where my vote is going
Every time a coach got suspended it was exciting knowing that Al MacNeil might show up behind the bench again. As you said, a lifetime of service for sure.
