Notes from day 1 of phase 3 camp. Dube and Robinson "unable to participate"

#Flames filing onto the ice right now. So far, just Jordan Sigalet is wearing a mask. Geoff Ward, Ryan Huska, and Ray Edwards and the players are not.

I wasn't sure if we'd get news from the training camps (wasn't sure if the media would be allowed in). I thought Eric Francis had stated that Media is not going to be allowed at the team practices once things kick off in the bubbles come Aug.
Man, this feels nice to see though (camp/practice notes).

I think they are allowing one “social media” person in the bubble, so they might have already chosen someone, and are using them for the training camp sessions as well.

No media in practices at the bubble (e.g., after July 26).
"Regular" media are allowed during training camp, albeit with a lot of rules.

Why not? Backlund was one of our strongest players to end the season, and Ryan can always be counted on. If our centre depth is
Monahan
Lindholm
Backlund
Ryan
Our wingers are extremely weak. Having Backlund as the 2C and Ryan as the 3C is not a problem at all, they’re both suited for those corresponding roles.

It's still weird to me that hockey is starting back up in July/August. Then again, I've been waiting for almost 5 months to see a puck drop, so that is more than enough time.

What will make it weird for me is when the NHL and MLB playoffs are happening close to the same time.
