Also to be fair, looking solely as the RCMP for data can't be accurate as the types of areas they police, contributes to the type of persons they deal with. For example, I would think if you were to take the same data from urban police services, the numbers would be much different.

Odd verbiage but presumably just a state in which every major city in the country is not burning down. Esper sucks but he's not really saying anything worse than Trump at this point.

all of the above...

4 of 10 live in poverty, so 40% of the population is poor. Obvious there is going to be more crime and substance abuse ect.

Anyway after my post last night I was accused of being "you posters" and racist against myself lol. Thought I should clear up my stance I wasn't denying racism I was just disputing the data and offering what I thought was the root of the problem. I think going after the RCMP only on this stuff is wrong. Lets look for the root causes of the vicious cycle of poverty in these communities.

again, if anyone feels compelled to do something and is still looking I recommend
https://www.canadahelps.org/en/chari...ions-services/
I think this is a good fit locally for the stuff we are discussing

My experience of the system in Vancouver is it isn't so much racist as just broken, the native population is heavily policed, they get picked up for minor infractions that most of us would be let off on, they get a charge, plead guilty get a minor fine or probation and are cut loose, the fact they have a record now means that in the future they will always be charged as that tends to be how the police work, it just becomes an endless revolving door that keeps natives in the Criminal Justice system for the most petty of crimes generally, of course that makes finding work impossible and so begats more crime

Yes it has to be, and hopefully is. And not just November. It has to be higher for every level of government and for every elected official.

I ran across something, more so for US based people.

This is a topic that Obama has addressed. Protests are to raise awareness and make the powers that be uncomfortable

The next steps involve identifying actions that individuals can take snd organizations that they support
