I'm hearing rumours that the league is looking into starting the season in July with all 8 teams playing closed door games in one location. I've also heard Pacific is lobbying to host this. All hearsay of course, but it's a little hope right now.

Ontario has also just opened up professional sports facilities for training today as well.

There also seems to be chatter on Reddit about an initial tournament, followed by games played at every stadium (also behind closed doors).

Either of these are preferable to no soccer, but hopefully the teams can find a way to make some additional money, since tickets/concessions are likely the majority of each team's revenue.

I think that for Spruce Meadows that what they should do is let everyone in with a ticket in the south stand. Then have us spread around the stadium with a 3 drink minimum. They get some atmosphere, sell some beverages and we get to watch some live games!

Only problem is I'm in 105, but can easy spot some 3 drink minimums.

I wonder if they could conceivably spread out the season ticket holders and have it eventually open to them only (likely in the fall).

My chatter is with the other supporters groups, but it was spurred on by that Reddit thread.

I think some revenue can be made by having OneSoccer sell rights to their games to TSN, Sportsnet, etc. Have to think those networks are desperate for content.

I would think TSN, CBC, and Sportsnet will be all over CanPL, especially if other leagues aren't operating.

Speaking of revenue, have you heard anything about when the new online Cavalry FC Shop will be open and ready to take our money?

Could run a six game season as a round robin east vs west. Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Victoria play two games against each other opponent, and same for York, Hamilton, Halifax and Ottawa. Winner of each 'division' meets for the title. That's basically the shortest I think a viable season format could be.

I really doubt it could if there is any inclement weather, since teams will likely also be practicing on that field.

Doubt it. But Westhills, IG Field and Croix Bleue Medavie stadiums are all field turf anyways.

The Blue Bombers released their 2019 financials, which include Valour's (albeit summarized). If I read this right, $2.8 million in revenue with a $210k loss for 2019. Which seems, not bad actually.
