I guess your villagers prefer different colors and types of items, if you give them those your friendship goes up faster.

Interacting with villagers has become one of my favourite parts of the game. The other day I noticed Ketchup was upset after talking to Chief. I didn’t have a problem with Chief but when he asked about leaving I told him arrivederci. Ketchup is awesome and I don’t want anyone making them feel bad.

If you think you'd like a chill island simulator game that is not much more than collecting things (be it collecting all the types of flowers, all the species of bugs and fish, all the items of art, all the different villagers, all the types of fruit trees, all the furniture, all the fashionable clothes, or all the crafting recipes) and then using those things to make your island look like you want then this is definitely your game.

We did based on twitter and this thread. My daughter is hooked, I enjoy it. Wish you could have more than one island per switch would be my only complaint so far.

These kind of games are not my jam at all. I ended up picking it up on a whim shortly after it came out.
