My notoriously Sunny and overwhelmingly positive disposition is hardly a secret around here which is why this show just kills it for me. I love it.

The Last Dance has been good from a storytelling perspective so far. However, if Jordan had authority on what was edited, which certainly appears to be the case, it comes across as Jordan loving to talk about himself. Jordan the young player certainly appears to be a hard worker and to some degree, likable. Jordan the declining vet and current day human, absolutely a self indulgent jerk with an ego. I don't get the fascination with giving Jordan a free pass at being such a twat. This "documentary" with Jordan commentary is justifying the bullying of the GM when the guy is dead and can't defend himself, all at the greatness of Jordan's competitive spirit. Kinda bias, no? Anyway, I'm enjoying it from the entertainment perspective, but this obviously reeks of Jordan's ego involved at the editing room, and he can't even help himself because he's never realized how arrogant he comes across.

A little late to the party but finally watched the three part Aaron Hernandez documentary. Man it was well done. Too many docs have a bunch of filler. Not this one, it was paced just right.
Listening to his phone calls from the prison was something.

Binged all 4 episodes of the Hillary Clinton documentary tonight. Enjoyed it quite a bit and made me wonder what things would be like if Trump didn't win.

But I do think Carole is worse. You can sense that she's a vicious person behind the scenes. Having volunteers as her foot soldiers is worse than Joe's setup where he gave the misfits jobs, and for a cause she claims to be so passionate about, she only would even begin to take note of those workers that had been doing it for years. She doesn't give a ####. And operating virtually the same thing under the guise of "rescue cats" is just plain scummy. Joe's hatred no doubt got out of hand, but it wasn't misplaced. The woman likely had her husband killed and threatens his family to keep them silent about it, and continues to live like royalty to this day.
That Doc guy is pretty messed in the head too. But damn if you weren't both shocked and impressed by how much these people actually got away with. Adorable jungle cats sure have a power over people, one even greater than money, since all the people involved were hardly getting paid at all to devote their lives to it.

As far as Tiger ethics Carol is significantly ahead as she doesn’t breed baby tigers for cuddles then sell them on private market or feed them to the adult tigers.

Didn't Joe mention in one of the episodes there was a time where she was purchasing cubs or something along those lines?

Yes. She originally purchased a bobcat cub in a parking lot of an auction to keep it from being skinned by the winning bidder. They found out how much money was in cub breeding and petting, but changed their focus after seeing how much suffering and damage there was due to the constant turnover in having to continuously breed. She stopped breeding and selling cubs and established an effort to rescue big cats.
The "documentary" was sensationalized schlock that completely ignored the real problem that these zoos and breeders are causing: immense harm to animals. She certainly isn't a saint, but the fact that people come away from it saying Baskin is just as bad as the rest is fact enough how disingenuous the whole project was.

When you start filming and find out one of the subjects of your documentary is an eccentric, homosexual, polygamist, meth head, another is an ex-cartel kingpin who murdered a DEA agent, another seems to be running a sex-harem cult/big cat zoo and the seemingly most sane one potentially killed her own husband, the tone of your film is going to change significantly.

You're right and I definitely enjoyed it, but they could have done a little more for the animals outside a few regretful lines from Joe at the very end of the final episode.

They definitely had the potential do a lot of good with how popular the show was. They likely didn't know it was going to be as culturally significant (at least for 2020) as it was.
If they found an organization that's actually doing good work and collected donations for them they could have raised a lot of money.

Last Dance is fascinating. As a Mark Price fan my Hate was STRONG for the Bulls and Jordan. Much like Chicago and their fans hated Detroit.
But, watching this now gives you a look into the players lives and mentality and the picture this documentary is painting is really interesting. Jordan hit a wall when he could get to the finals on talent alone. Bought into Phil's coaching and lost still, then dragged the entire team into the gym to gain mass and outmuscle Detroit. He didnt hit that extra gear until he realized he didnt always have to be the last shot taker, and that you had to sharpen your body to its bleeding edge to maximize all the G.O.A.T talent he had.
Episodes 3 and 4 were better than 1 and 2 hope it keeps.going like that.

I know I'm super late to the party, but I'm actually glad I held off watching Brooklyn 99 until now. It's been great to watch, and no real binge-ing, I watch 2 or 3 episodes a day while I workout and when I eat dinner. Great show, like a more toned down real life Archer.

I think the problem is there isn’t a good private zoo. They tried to find one. The best they could do was find one that the owner may have fed her husband to the tigers. I think Carols Zooey the start was supposed to be the good option.

I don't think thats the case. The only way they got all the people to talk to them to make the Doc was to tell them it was about Carol Baskin.

So glad I skipped Tiger King, even reading all that makes me mad. Loving Last Dance, I try to space the two eps a week out so I'm currently one behind, looking forward to #4 tonight or tomorrow. The way #3 ended with Rodman peeling out on a hog about to go on a 48 hour Vegas bender was awesome haha
